You will work closely with senior engineers and platform leads to help maintain reliable, secure, and performant messaging services used across the organisation</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Support the <strong>day‑to‑day operation</strong> of the IBM MQ messaging platform across multiple environments.</li>\n <li>Assist with the <strong>installation, configuration, and maintenance</strong> of IBM MQ components.</li>\n <li>Monitor platform health, investigate issues, and help resolve <strong>incidents and service disruptions</strong>.</li>\n <li>Participate in <strong>change, release, and patching activities</strong> under guidance from senior engineers.</li>\n <li>Help implement and follow <strong>operational standards, runbooks, and best practices</strong>.</li>\n <li>Work with application teams to support <strong>onboarding, connectivity, and troubleshooting</strong>.</li>\n <li>Contribute to <strong>documentation</strong>, knowledge sharing, and platform improvements.</li>\n <li>Support <strong>security, compliance, and audit</strong> requirements related to messaging services.</li>\n <li>Take part in <strong>on‑call or support rotations</strong> where required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Required Skills & Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Hands‑on experience working with <strong>IBM MQ</strong> (or a strong understanding of enterprise messaging concepts).</li>\n <li>Experience supporting <strong>production systems</strong> in a Linux or Unix‑based environment.</li>\n <li>Basic understanding of:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Messaging patterns (point‑to‑point, pub/sub)</li>\n   <li>High availability and resilience concepts</li>\n   <li>Networking fundamentals</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Familiarity with <strong>scripting</strong> (e.g. Bash, Python, or similar) for operational tasks.</li>\n <li>Experience using <strong>monitoring and alerting tools</strong>.</li>\n <li>Ability to follow processes, troubleshoot issues, and escalate effectively when needed.</li>\n <li>Good communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively with other teams.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Nice to Have</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Exposure to <strong>other messaging or streaming technologies</strong> (e.g. Kafka, ActiveMQ, AMQ).</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of <strong>containers or Kubernetes</strong>.</li>\n <li>Experience working in a <strong>regulated or financial services</strong> environment.</li>\n <li>Understanding of ITIL or structured incident / change management processes.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What We Offer</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Opportunity to work on <strong>mission‑critical messaging platforms</strong> used across the business.</li>\n <li>Clear <strong>learning and progression path</strong> towards senior and lead engineering roles.</li>\n <li>Support from experienced messaging and platform engineers.</li>\n <li>A collaborative, professional team environment.</li>\n <li>Competitive compensation and benefits package.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Progression Path</h2>\n<p>Engineers in this role are expected to grow towards <strong>Senior Messaging Platform Engineer</strong>, taking on deeper technical ownership, design responsibility, and leadership over time.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>",
