We seek employees who bring different and innovative ways of seeing the world and solving problems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The <strong>Research Intern </strong>will assist with routine laboratory support activities in a cancer research laboratory while gaining exposure to biomedical research and laboratory operations.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The Research Intern will work under the close supervision of the Lab Manager and laboratory personnel and will receive training in basic laboratory practices and safety procedures.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining laboratory supplies and reagents.</li>\n <li>Prepare and aliquot basic reagents under supervision.</li>\n <li>Assist with autoclaving glassware and disposal of biohazard waste.</li>\n <li>Help maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness.</li>\n <li>Support routine laboratory activities and administrative tasks as assigned.</li>\n <li>Participate in educational and mentorship activities to learn about biomedical research and scientific careers.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current high school student entering senior year with an interest in science, medicine, or biomedical research; </li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn; </li>\n <li>Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a laboratory environment; </li>\n <li>Availability of approximately 6–10 hours per week preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.</p>\n<p>Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked), and prorated paid holidays (up to 11 days per year).</p>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) Employer.
