SHARE Family &amp; Community Services is built on a strong volunteer foundation. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to facilitate many of our programs and services. We are looking for caring, respectful individuals who are passionate about the health of older adults to support seniors who are registered in the Better at Home program. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #212529\">Tri-Cities Better at Home program</span></span><span style=\"color: #212529\"> helps seniors with simple day-to-day tasks so that they can continue to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to their communities. Better at Home offers the following non-medical services: light housekeeping, grocery shopping, friendly visiting, transportation to medical appointment, minor home repair and food support.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">We would like to connect with you.</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Location:             3020 Lincoln Ave #104, Coquitlam, BC V3B 7L9</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Duration:             Minimum Commitment of 4-6 months </span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Requirements:    Criminal Record Check</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>                              Availability required during the week.</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span>For more information, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 604-540-9161 ext. 610.</span></em></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Friendly Visiting Volunteers</span></em></span></p>\n<p><span>The Tri Cities Better at Home Program requires volunteers for <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Friendly Home Visiting Services or regular Phone Visits.</span> Friendly Visiting Services for seniors are aimed at reducing the social isolation experienced by older adults. <span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>This does not involve personal home care or driving clients. </em></span></span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Food Support Service</span></em></span></p>\n<p><span>The Tri Cities Better at Home Program requires volunteers for the Food Support services. </span></p>\n<p><span>Due to physical limitations of our registered seniors, volunteers support seniors with delivering food hampers to their homes. Volunteers pick up the food hampers from SHARE Food Bank in Port Moody and deliver to our seniors in the Tri Cities.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Grocery Shoppers</span></em></span></p>\n<p><span>The Tri Cities Better at Home Program requires volunteers for the Grocery Shopping service. </span></p>\n<p><span>Volunteers assist our registered seniors by taking their grocery order by <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">phone or email</span> and process the order with our registered grocery store. <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Another option is  the in-person shopping</span>; volunteers pick up our registered seniors and take them to the grocery stores in Tri-Cities for shopping. In-person shopping provides seniors with additional opportunity to get physically active and connect with other community members.  </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Transportation Services</span></em></span></p>\n<p><span>The Tri Cities Better at Home Program requires volunteers for the Transportation Services. Trained volunteer drivers, provide seniors with transportation to their doctor’s appointments, and other eligible personal appointments such as Pharmacy, Recreation facilities, Banks, and Libraries…etc. The personal appointments are within the Tri-Cities  and medical appointments are across metro Vancouver. Using their own vehicles or agency vehicle, volunteers pick up their assigned seniors at their doorstep, take them to their appointment and return them home. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Senior’s Information Line</span></em></span></p>\n<p><span>The Tri Cities Better at Home Program requires volunteers to answer our Tri- Cities Senior’s Information Line,  which is  dedicated to increase seniors’ immediate access to  information and provide one to one resource navigation support. Trained volunteers support  seniors in accessing appropriate information and services that are offered by SHARE or other services providers in the community. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Handy Helper</span></em></span></p>\n<p><span>The Tri Cities Better at Home Program requires volunteers who can assist seniors in the Tri-Cities with minor repairs. Repairs include minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work. These <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">do not</span> include extensive renovations, furniture moving, painting or exterior work. Mileage reimbursement is available. </span></p>",
