    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Position Summary:</span></span></span><span><span> </span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>The incumbent </span><span>is responsible for</span><span> </span><span>assisting</span><span> the children, youth, young adults, families, and community of Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation with “developing” skills and </span><span>acquire</span><span> resources needed to enhance and improve social functioning</span><span>.  </span><span>The </span><span>incumbent will</span><span> also provide counselling, therapy, and resources for social and community support services </span><span>in an effort to</span><span> achieve this goal. </span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Some </span><span>Duties</span><span> include:</span><span> </span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Regular<span> </span></span><span>client</span><span><span> </span>contact and case management. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Ensuring</span><span><span> </span>proper reports and documentation are completed and<span> </span></span><span>submitted</span><span><span> </span>promptly. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Report writing and case planning<span> </span></span><span>as may be<span> </span></span><span>required</span><span>. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Provide unit staff and supervisor with updates and reports as required</span><span>.  </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Build positive community and public relations.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Plan assistive programs for clients. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Act as an advocate for client groups within the community. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Other duties shall be assigned as<span> </span></span><span>required</span><span>. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Qualifications:</span></span></span><br><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>B.S.W</span><span>., B.A., or Child and Family Services Diplo</span><span>m</span><span>a and/or equivalent education in a related field of study. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Registered with Manitoba College of Social Workers </span><span>(MCSW) </span><span>or eligible to be registered. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Minimum of two years’ experience in child and family services and/or a related field of service. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Knowledge of Acts and Legislation, that governs child welfare for Sandy Bay Child and Family Services Inc</span><span>.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Must have a valid Manitoba </span><span>Driver’s</span><span> Licen</span><span>s</span><span>e, access to a vehicle and willing to travel</span><span>.  </span><span>Will provide a current Drivers Abstract.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Must pass Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and Child Abuse Registry Check.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Ability</span><span> to speak and/or understand the Ojibway language would be an asset. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Knowledge and respect of Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nations traditional culture and traditional philosophy.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>If interested in applying, applicants will go to<span> </span></span></span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Sandy Bay Child and Family Services Inc. website:</span></span></span><span><span><span> </span></span></span><a href=\"https://www.sandybaycfs.org/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span><span>https://www.sandybaycfs.org/</span></span></a><span><span> </span><span><span> </span></span></span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>careers section</span></span></span><span><span>.  Where you will<span> </span></span><span>submit</span><span><span> </span>a Cover Letter, Resume, along with three (3) References Letters, one being<span> </span></span><span>most</span><span><span> </span>recent Supervisor. </span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span>Preference will be given to Canadian Citizens, First Nations, Metis or Inuit candidates meeting the position requirements.
