Description

About the Role: The Current Iowa, Night and weekends The Restaurant/Outlet Cook plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality culinary experiences to guests by preparing and cooking a variety of menu items in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires attention to detail to ensure that all dishes meet established standards for taste, presentation, and food safety. The cook will collaborate closely with kitchen staff and management to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment. They will also be responsible for following recipes accurately and adapting to special dietary requests when necessary. Ultimately, the role contributes directly to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the restaurant or outlet. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working as a cook in a restaurant or food service environment. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications: Culinary school training or certification. Experience with specific cuisine types relevant to the restaurant's menu. ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and cooking techniques. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations throughout the shift. Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food delivery. Adapt to special dietary requirements and customer preferences as needed. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of stock. Skills: The required skills such as food preparation, cooking techniques, and knowledge of food safety are applied daily to ensure that dishes are prepared correctly and safely. Time management and multitasking skills are essential to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods. Attention to detail is critical for maintaining consistency in taste and presentation, as well as adhering to health regulations.
