The Residential Teaching & Program Fellow position is an intensive, highly selective, and professionally mentored opportunity for aspiring educators. Fellows are fully immersed in a world-class academic and residential environment, serving as the connective tissue between the classroom, the dorm, and the activity field for our Junior Scholars (rising 7th – 9th graders). This fellowship is designed as a rigorous career launchpad, blending hands-on co-teaching with essential residential life management. Fellows will develop critical, highly sought-after professional skills, including curriculum co-design, adolescent management, crisis communication, and program leadership, all while exploring the profound joy and serious responsibility of mentoring middle school students in a boarding school setting. Professional Development & Growth : This program is structured to provide clear, actionable professional development that translates directly to career success: Dedicated Mentorship : Each fellow will meet with the senior Webb faculty member for weekly check-ins, pedagogical discussions, and personalized career guidance Co-Teaching & Curriculum Design : Fellow will co-design and co-teach alongside veteran faculty, receiving formal feedback on instructional delivery, classroom management, and student engagement strategies Transferable Skills Certification : Fellows will gain quantifiable experience in Adolescent Management & Behavioral Interventions Community Building & Group Facilitation High-Stakes Communication (with students, faculty, and administrative staff) Formal Reflection : Fellows participate in a final debriefing and Capstone Reflection, synthesizing their residential and academic work to prepare them for competitive positions in education, residential life, or youth development Essential Duties & Responsibilities Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Program Duration : the program runs from July 5 th – July 29 th with mandatory faculty and staff training from July 5-7 th and the student program concluding on July 28 th Instructional Co - Leadership : Co-designing and co-teaching in one of our signature academic tracks such as paleontology, global changemakers, how to be creative, medical science, or science & engineering Morning Rotations : Each fellow will participate in and rotate through three core morning rotations: Student Accountability & Wellness Education and Classroom Management Academic Administration Residential & Evening Supervision: Residing in Webb dormitories and leading the structured evening program (e.g., study hall, social time, check-in, dorm meetings). Fellows are responsible for supervising dorm residents and fostering community until the transfer of responsibility to the dedicated overnight security staff. Program Design & Leadership: Planning and supervising afternoon and/or evening activities, which may include athletic programs, newspaper, drama, outdoor activities, or team building. F ield Safety & Logistics: Chaperoning off-campus field trips and, when eligible, driving for these off-campus excursions. Community Standards: Promoting the development of honor, character, and leadership in all dealings with students, including consistent enforcement of school rules. Logistics & Support: Other duties as assigned, supporting the Director of Experiential Learning, Assistant Director, and Assistant Dean to ensure student health and safety. Compensation: Housing in Webb dorms and meals (when the dining hall is open) will be provided in addition to the non-exempt wages earned. Supervisor Responsibility : Summer Fellows have no formal supervisory responsibilities over other staff. Required Qualifications: Education: high school diploma Experience: At least 1 year post high school experience Preferred Qualifications: Education : At least two years of college Experience : At least 2 years post high school experience Other Requirements: A current driver’s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record is highly recommended. You may participate in a van driving training course and plan to help support field trips and other off campus needs. A criminal background check is required and must be successfully completed before employment can begin.
