Our close-knit, mission-driven community values trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence.</p><p>The Residential Teaching &amp; Program Fellow position is an intensive, highly selective, and professionally mentored opportunity for aspiring educators. Fellows are fully immersed in a world-class academic and residential environment, serving&nbsp;as&nbsp;the&nbsp;connective tissue between&nbsp;the classroom,&nbsp;the dorm,&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;activity&nbsp;field&nbsp;for&nbsp;our&nbsp;Junior&nbsp;Scholars&nbsp;(rising&nbsp;7th &ndash; 9th graders).</p><p>This fellowship is designed as a rigorous career launchpad, blending hands-on co-teaching with essential residential life management. Fellows will develop critical, highly sought-after professional skills, including curriculum co-design, adolescent management, crisis communication, and program leadership, all while exploring the profound joy and serious responsibility of mentoring middle school students in a boarding school setting.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Professional Development &amp; Growth</strong>:</p><p>This program is structured to provide clear, actionable professional development that translates directly to career success:</p><ul><li><strong>Dedicated Mentorship</strong>: Each fellow will meet with the senior Webb faculty member for weekly check-ins, pedagogical discussions, and personalized career guidance</li><li><strong>Co-Teaching &amp; Curriculum Design</strong>: Fellow will co-design and co-teach alongside veteran faculty, receiving formal feedback on instructional delivery, classroom management, and student engagement strategies</li><li><strong>Transferable Skills Certification</strong>: Fellows will gain quantifiable experience in<ol><li><strong>Adolescent Management &amp; Behavioral Interventions</strong></li><li><strong>Community Building &amp; Group Facilitation</strong></li><li><strong>High-Stakes Communication</strong> (with students, faculty, and administrative staff)</li></ol></li><li><strong>Formal Reflection</strong>: Fellows participate in a final debriefing and Capstone Reflection, synthesizing their residential and academic work to prepare them for competitive positions in education, residential life, or youth development</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li><strong>Program Duration</strong>: the program runs from July 5<sup>th</sup> &ndash; July 29<sup>th</sup> with mandatory faculty and staff training from July 5-7<sup>th</sup> and the student program concluding on July 28<sup>th</sup></li><li><strong>Instructional Co</strong>-<strong>Leadership</strong>: Co-designing and co-teaching in one of our signature academic tracks such as paleontology, global changemakers, how to be creative, medical science, or science &amp; engineering</li><li><strong>Morning Rotations</strong>: Each fellow will participate in and rotate through three core morning rotations:</li><li>Student Accountability &amp; Wellness</li><li>Education and Classroom Management</li><li>Academic Administration</li><li><strong>Residential &amp; Evening Supervision:&nbsp;</strong>Residing in Webb dormitories and leading the structured evening program (e.g., study hall, social time, check-in, dorm meetings). Fellows are responsible for supervising dorm residents and fostering community until the transfer of responsibility to the dedicated overnight security staff.</li><li><strong>Program Design &amp; Leadership:&nbsp;</strong>Planning and supervising afternoon and/or evening activities, which may include athletic programs, newspaper, drama, outdoor activities, or team building.</li><li>F<strong>ield Safety &amp; Logistics:&nbsp;</strong>Chaperoning off-campus field trips and, when eligible, driving for these off-campus excursions.</li><li><strong>Community Standards:&nbsp;</strong>Promoting the development of honor, character, and leadership in all dealings with students, including consistent enforcement of school rules.</li><li><strong>Logistics &amp; Support:&nbsp;</strong>Other duties as assigned, supporting the Director of Experiential Learning, Assistant Director, and Assistant Dean to ensure student health and safety.</li><li><strong>Compensation:&nbsp;</strong>Housing in Webb dorms and meals (when the dining hall is open) will be provided in addition to the non-exempt wages earned.</li></ul><p><strong>Supervisor Responsibility</strong>:</p><p>Summer Fellows have no formal supervisory responsibilities over other staff.</p><p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>Education:&nbsp;</strong>high school diploma</li><li><strong>Experience:&nbsp;</strong>At least 1 year post high school experience</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>Education</strong>: At least two years of college&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Experience</strong>: <strong data-pasted=\"true\">&nbsp;</strong>At least 2 years post high school experience</li></ul><p><strong>Other Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>A current driver&rsquo;s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record is highly recommended.</li><li>You may participate in a van driving training course and plan to help support field trips and other off campus needs.</li><li>A&nbsp;criminal background check is required and must be successfully completed before employment can begin.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>MISSION &ndash; Culture &amp; community&nbsp;</strong></p><p>The Webb Schools are committed to fostering an inclusive school community characterized by openness, acceptance, and empathy, where all members are valued, respected, and supported.
