We are the only department at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham that performs invasive breast procedures. Our collaborative team works Monday through Friday with no evening or weekend shifts in an environment committed to high quality patient care. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Outpatient only - X-rays consist mostly of post OP AP & Lateral spines /no fluoro - Must be willing to learn DEXA</p>\n<h2>What You Will Do</h2>\n<p>To perform radiological procedures under the direction of a radiologist. Providing quality images to physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare and position patients for imaging and select exposure factors accurately.</li>\n <li>Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.</li>\n <li>Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.</li>\n <li>Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Prevent patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.</li>\n <li>Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).</li>\n <li>Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.</li>\n <li>Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.</li>\n <li>Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.</li>\n <li>May perform bone density scans using DEXA equipment, if applicable.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Need</h2>\n<p>Licensure / Certification / Registration:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.</li>\n <li>Bone Density Certification may be required within 6-months of hire or transfer date (if applicable).</li>\n <li>One or more of the following required:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.</li>\n   <li>Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.</li>\n   <li>Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.</li>\n   <li>Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Education:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Preferences</h2>\n<p>No additional preferences.</p>\n<h2>About UAB St. Vincent’s</h2>\n<p>UAB St. Vincent’s, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
