Derby City Gaming & Hotel boasts nearly 1,300 of the latest games, a grab-n-go restaurant, Oliver’s Chophouse & Bourbon Bar, a Kentucky Derby-themed hotel, and live music! The newly expanded Derby City Gaming & Hotel was voted one of the “Best Places to Work in Greater Louisville” by Louisville Business First JOB SUMMARY The Oliver's Chophouse and Bourbon Bar Food Server is responsible for ensuring that all guests are provided a memorable dining experience. Each team member ensures that the outlet is clean, organized and the restaurant is ready on time for every day to ensure that every guest is well taken care of in a fine dining environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for taking orders from patrons and returning orders in a timely manner. Ensures dining area is clean and orderly at all times. Responsible to perform “responsible alcohol service” with regards to patron limitations and pass any/all responsible alcohol service training, if needed. Guest banking all dining room checks. Cleans and polishes tableware of spots, and pre-busses. Delivers and dispenses items ordered by guests, serves beverages, food and non-food items. Ensure the safety and security of employees and guests. STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE Maintaining interpersonal working relationship among all personnel. Oral and written communication skills. Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high-pressure situations. Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights. Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Uses Point of Sale equipment to enter orders for kitchen personnel. Uses equipment such as coffee brewers, iced tea makers, and juice, soda, and milk dispensers. Must bus tables in a timely manner to accommodate new business Is a role model for the company and responds to questions positively. Must work with communication devices such as telephones and policy systems. Maintains confidentiality and security of relevant information. Demonstrated record of successful interpersonal skills in regard to working with diverse people and levels of authority. All internal and external guests must be treated in a manner to ensure complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed our guests’ expectations Ability to work effectively with others Ability to work in fast-paced environment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Fine dining experience, preferably in a high-volume casino steakhouse is preferred. Knowledge of wines, alcohol and basic food knowledge is preferred. 6 months prior work experience is preferred. Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
