They conduct well checks, screen for disease symptoms, administer treatments, and order tests under the premise of enhancing a patient's overall well-being.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Main Responsibilities:</em></span></span></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Provide Counseling and Education</span></em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Educate appropriate age groups on use of community services, as well as the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health</li>\n<li>Counsel on family planning to include contraception, pregnancy, STDs, and childbirth</li>\n<li>Advise patients on the aging process and promotion/well-being in advanced age</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Perform Examinations</span></em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Takes, evaluates, and records comprehensive health histories</li>\n<li>Provides a comprehensive physical exam to evaluate health status, acute issues, and/or chronic conditions from children to geriatrics</li>\n<li>Diagnoses and manages acute episodic and chronic medical illnesses as well as stable behavioral/psychological problems</li>\n<li>Performs simple, in-office procedures as needed</li>\n<li>Provide well child care, including screening and administering of immunizations</li>\n<li>Initiate consultation requests with specialists and other health professionals for appropriate medical conditions</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Diagnostic tests</span></em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Orders appropriate labs and/or radiological/diagnostic testing to assess and diagnosis medical issues</li>\n<li>Interpret labs and studies to guide management of illness</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Treatment of Medical/Behavioral Conditions</span></em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish management treatments from presenting illnesses, labs results, and diagnostic testing</li>\n<li>Prescribe non-pharmacological therapies and pharmacological agents, to include Schedule II-V controlled substances, within scope of practice</li>\n<li>Manage common gynecological problems</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Other Duties As Assigned</span></em> </p>\n<ul></ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Education and Qualifications:</em></span></span></p>\n<p><span>• A current, unrestricted NYS Nurse Practitioner License required<br>• National board certification required; Family medicine or med-peds required<br>• CPR certification required (can be provided)<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">• Minimum of five (5) years experience in license </span><br>• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion<br>• The ability to work flexible hours -- some evenings are required<br>• The ability to communicate fluently in both Spanish and English is preferred</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Physical Requirements: </em></span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Must be able to hear and communicate with clients and staff via phone, web media, and in person.</span></li>\n<li><span>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.</span></li>\n<li><span>Must be able to sit for extended periods of time</span></li>\n<li><span>OSHA Category I</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>",
