At Endura Steel, we supply the foundations for living. As a Robar Company, we contribute to the growth of our nation by supplying foundational construction materials used in residential, commercial, industrial, state, and federal construction projects.<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing purchasing strategies that support the company&rsquo;s operational and financial objectives. This position operates from the central hub and supports the inventory and procurement needs of multiple branches while managing a team of buyers.</p><h2 style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Key Responsibilities</h2><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements with mills and vendors.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Source and qualify new mills and suppliers.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Monitor steel market journals and commodity indexes to anticipate pricing trends.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Utilize MRP systems to forecast material requirements and maintain optimal inventory levels.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support inventory needs across all branch locations.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Manage ERP purchasing functions and vendor performance tracking.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Integrate material cost and landed cost to ensure accurate inventory valuation.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Run inventory reports and oversee cycle counts with warehouse teams.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support year-end inventory and audit coordination.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Manage freight strategy and third‑party carrier relationships.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Lead and develop a team of two buyers responsible for daily purchasing activities.</li></ul></div><h2 style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Qualifications</h2><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Minimum 5+ years experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">5+ years ERP experience (Epicor preferred).</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong MRP planning and inventory forecasting experience.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience negotiating directly with mills and large suppliers.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to source and qualify new mills and vendors.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong understanding of landed cost analysis.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong analytical and negotiation skills.</li></ul></div><h2 style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)</h2><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Inventory Turns Improvement</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Material Cost Savings vs Market Index</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Supplier Lead Time Performance</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Inventory Accuracy</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">On‑Time Deliveries to Branch Locations</li></ul></div><h2 style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Preferred Industry Experience</h2><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience within the steel distribution industry including long product, flat rolled, rebar, construction materials, or metals service centers is highly preferred.</p></div></div>\n",
