    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Shift: 8a-4:30p</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>JCAHPO Ophthalmic Certification (COA,COT,COMT) required.</p>\n<h2>Description</h2>\n<p>This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making. This position reports to a Supervisor of Ophthalmic Operations and will work within a specific section of the Ophthalmology clinic.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Ophthalmic skills include:</p>\n<li>Obtaining and documenting patient history, determining visual acuity, performing automated and manual refraction for diagnostic purposes, performing basic lensometry, pupillary assessment, visual field testing, PAM, basin ocular motility assessment, manual and automated keratometry, osmolarity testing, administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician.</li>\n<li>Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR, providing patient services, measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry), pre-operative preparation of patient, maintaining equipment and instruments, perform ocular imaging including OCT, Topography, fundus photography, preparation of surgical instruments and equipment, aseptic technique, post-operative education.</li>\n<li>Performs other related duties as required.</li>\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree.</li>\n <li>Minimum of one year of experience in an Ophthalmology practice.</li>\n <li>JCAHPO Ophthalmic Certification (COA,COT,COMT) required.</li>\n <li>(BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium): 20-50 lbs.; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs., 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs., 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs. max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
