    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>The following statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements, which may be inherent in the position.</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>A Emergency Department Nurse is a highly specialized health care professional who cares for a range of medical emergencies and clinic type patient care in the hospital environment for the purpose of recognizing, stabilizing and planning patient care activities and based on acuity of patients.</p>\n<p>Some of the many skills performed </p>\n<p>·        Follow Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) guidelines </p>\n<p>·        Follow Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) guidelines </p>\n<p>·        Follow Basic Life Support (BLS) guidelines</p>\n<p>·        Orthopedic splinting </p>\n<p>·        Provide advanced cardiac care, including: </p>\n<p>o        Manual defibrillation; </p>\n<p>o        Synchronized cardioversion; </p>\n<p>o        Transcutaneous pacing; </p>\n<p>o        Perform Electrocardiogram monitoring, including 12-lead ECG; </p>\n<p>·        Establish vascular access for medication administration and fluid resuscitation via several routes: </p>\n<p>o        Peripheral intravenous cannulation; </p>\n<p>o        EJ intravenous cannulation (with competency)</p>\n<p>o        Intraosseous cannulation (with competency)</p>\n<p>·        Utilize noninvasive diagnostic devices such as pulse oximetry; capnography</p>\n<p>·        Place a nasogastric tube and perform gastric suctioning; </p>\n<p>·        Administer medications via intramuscular, subcutaneous, intravenous, sublingual, endotracheal, rectal,   </p>\n<p>                        and intraosseous routes </p>\n<p>·        Use of glucometer for diabetic patients </p>\n<p>·        Ventilator and IV pump management </p>\n<p>·        Administer a variety of medications.</p>\n<p>·        Utilizes the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) for patient triage</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience/Skills Requirements</strong></p>\n<p>EDUCATION:</p>\n<p>                        Graduation from a State Board of Nursing School RN program</p>\n<p>LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION<strong><u>:</u></strong> </p>\n<p>                        Licensure by the Alabama Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. </p>\n<p>                        BLS certification </p>\n<p>                        Certified within the first year and maintains ACLS certification. </p>\n<p>                        Certified within the first year and maintains PALS certification.</p>\n<p>                        MOAB or equivalent training</p>\n<h2>About Us</h2>\n<p>Lake Guntersville, a mountain-lakes jewel, is located approximately 30 miles from metro Huntsville – and is home to Marshall Medical Centers. </p>\n<p><strong>Marshall Medical Centers</strong>, an affiliate of the Huntsville Hospital Health System, serves the residents of Marshall County and the surrounding area (population approximately 125,000).
