Understanding of Boeing &amp; Airbus &apos;Line-Fit’ requirements?<br /><br />Job Summary:<br /><br />The Qualification Engineer performs formal qualification test activities for standard and<br />custom hardware and software systems. This individual supports the development of<br />procedures needed to demonstrate product compliance and assists in the evaluation of<br />test equipment required to verify product performance during qualification tests. The<br />Qualification Engineer may assist in the construction or modification of test fixtures. This<br />individual may also support the formal regulatory process related to product qualification<br />test lab readiness.<br /><br />Duties and Responsibilities:<br /><br />Interface with Design and Software groups to identify support equipment needed to<br />successfully execute performance verification during formal qualification testing<br />Collect data for the development of Qualification Procedures needed to demonstrate<br />product compliance to established requirements<br />Facilitate third-party laboratories purchase orders and invoices<br />Monitor, coordinate and manage all activities related to the execution of formal qualification<br />test program including, but not limited to:<br />Test schedule (chronological order of test activities)<br />Set up and integration of test lab and support equipment<br />Regularly-scheduled status reports<br /><br />Preferred Qualifications and/or Education:<br /><br />Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field<br />0-6 years of experience working in a similar role<br />Experience working in a AS9100 quality environment<br />3+ years of experience in a test environment with emphasis on satisfying the authorities &amp;<br />OEM requirements as well as other industry standards<br />Familiarization with FAA Part 25 and EASA CS Part 25 requirements related to airborne<br />IFE equipment<br />In-depth working knowledge of industry-standard RTCA and airframe qualification<br />requirements<br />In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office<br />Hands-on experience with Electrical/EMI test procedures, potential challenges and<br />mitigation techniques<br />Represent the company and interface with the FAA and company suppliers<br />Hands-on experience with:<br />Temperature and pressure chambers<br />Vibration and Acceleration test equipment<br />EMI test set up and wiring<br />Feedback devices such as accelerometers and thermocuples<br /><br />Soft Skills:<br /><br />Ability to adapt, plan and organize in a constantly changing environment<br />Strong written and verbal English communication skills<br />Strong analytical problem solving skills<br />Ability to work independently with minimal direction as well as in a team environment<br />Rev. 1/1/2017<br />Ability to use discretion and independent judgment when making decisions on behalf of<br />the company<br /><br />Physical demands:<br /><br />Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer<br />keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear<br />Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms<br />May be required to handle or feel objects, tools or controls<br />Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds<br />Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability<br />to adjust focus<br /><br />Work Environment:<br /><br />Office environment<br />Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate<br /><br />Travel:<br /><br />Some local, domestic and international travel may be required<br /><br />Training Curriculum:<br /><br />Staff Orientation<br />Other programs as developed by management<br />The preceding functions and requirements have been provided as examples of the types of work<br />performed by employees assigned to this job classification.
