Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ol><li>Provides primary medical care to patients based on the federal standard of 4250 patient encounters per year per 1.0 FTE which averages 21-22 patient encounters per day.</li><li>Diagnoses and treats illnesses in children as authorized by their medical license and in accordance with FCCH protocols.</li><li>Provides preventive health care to children in accordance with clinic guidelines.</li><li>Participates in setting medical and nursing standards and protocols for the health center(s).</li><li>Attends provider meetings.</li><li>May be a member of FCCH standing committees.</li><li>Assists nursing staff with patient triage of telephone calls and questions.</li><li>Documents patient encounters and refers patients for further diagnosis and treatment outside FCCH.</li><li>Maintains patient problem list and med list.</li><li>Available for consultation with Physician Assistants and Family Nurse Practitioners whenever required.</li><li>May be assigned supervising physician for Pediatric Physician Assistants and/or Pediatric Family Nurse Practitioner.</li><li>May supervise pediatric medical residents and students learning medical practices at the health center(s).
