    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></p><p>The Laborer &ndash; Grounds Maintenance position assists in keeping buildings and grounds in a clean and orderly condition, and in maintaining and repairing minor utility system breakdowns. &nbsp;Mows and trims turf areas; collects and disposes of refuse; maintains piers, boat docks, ramps, garden amenities, barrier posts, fences, District signs, picnic tables, comfort stations, playground equipment, and shelters; includes lake management. &nbsp;Assists with interior building maintenance, including cleaning floors, restrooms, and fixtures. &nbsp;Assists tradespersons and other skilled laborers with various construction and/or repair projects. &nbsp;Assists with maintenance and operation of all machinery (i.e., mowers, tractors, pumps) used in grounds and building maintenance. &nbsp;Will be required to perform weekend preserve maintenance duties. &nbsp; Drives a motorized vehicle to travel to different locations. &nbsp;Performs tasks that will require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching and sitting. &nbsp;Performs heavy lifting tasks up to 50 pounds.</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>EXPERIENCE</strong></p><p>Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. &nbsp;No formal education required. &nbsp;Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance, motorized equipment (i.e., front-end loader, tractor, riding mower, watercraft, and other pieces of motorized equipment) and vehicles. &nbsp;Basic knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions pertaining to grounds maintenance and construction projects. &nbsp;Must possess a valid driver&rsquo;s license.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>&nbsp;COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS</strong></p><p>Anticipated starting rate: $20.75</p><p>The Lake County Forest Preserves offers an excellent work environment as well as complies with the Paid Leave for All Workers Act by offering paid time off.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><br></p></div></div></div></div>\n",
