It’s also about how we support one another and how we show up for our community. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Together, we keep getting better - advancing our mission to transform healthcare and serve as a leader of positive change.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The <strong>Rehabilitation Aide</strong> provides supportive and ancillary services to the professional staff of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This position will support the physical / occupational therapists, maintaining patient treatment areas clean, assisting patients with exercises and light administrative tasks.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>A day in the life of an <strong>Rehabilitation Aide</strong> at <strong>Hackensack Meridian <em>Health</em></strong> includes:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A day in the life of an Rehabilitation Aide at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:</li>\n <li>Prepares and cleans whirlpools and attends to patients while in the whirlpool.</li>\n <li>Assists patients in donning and doffing prosthetic or orthotic devices.</li>\n <li>Assists patients in dressing and undressing in preparation for treatment.</li>\n <li>Assists the therapist in setting up patients on all therapeutic equipment.</li>\n <li>Maintains linen and other supplies at all times at the disposal of the professional staff.</li>\n <li>Prepares hot and cold packs for use by the therapists.</li>\n <li>Adjusts non-modality equipment for patient use.</li>\n <li>Assists therapists in gait training of patients and is able to provide support to patients while ambulating, safely lower patients to the floor in case of a total loss of balance.</li>\n <li>Performs daily whirlpool scheduling and completes the daily assignment sheet.</li>\n <li>Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing, and/or visually impaired, etc.).  This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.)</li>\n <li>Aheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.</li>\n <li>Other duties and/or projects as assigned</li>\n <li>Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.</li>\n <li>Lifts a minimum of 50lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to communicate with a diverse patient population. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to work as a member of the interdisciplinary team.</li>\n <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>\n <li>Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 1 year patient care experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Licenses and Certifications Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If you feel that the above description speaks directly to your strengths and capabilities, then please apply today!  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Starting Minimum Rate</h2>Minimum rate of $18.57 Hourly\n<h2>Job Posting Disclosure</h2>HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
