This role ensures compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, local, and industry-specific safety regulations while supporting continuous improvement in safety performance within a manufacturing environment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Safety Specialist partners with management and employees to implement safety programs, conduct audits, deliver training, and drive proactive accident prevention initiatives. This individual plays a key role in identifying hazards, reducing risk, and fostering a culture of safety.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><h3><strong>Safety Compliance & Programs</strong></h3>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable regulatory requirements</li>\n   <li>Conduct periodic safety audits to evaluate compliance and program effectiveness</li>\n   <li>Update, maintain, and improve safety programs, procedures, and practices</li>\n   <li>Support ISO 45001 implementation and ongoing system maintenance</li>\n   <li>Identify hazards and implement controls to minimize or eliminate employee exposure</li>\n  </ul><h3><strong>Accident Prevention & Risk Management</strong></h3>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Lead or support incident investigations utilizing root cause analysis</li>\n   <li>Recommend corrective actions and assist with implementation upon approval</li>\n   <li>Identify workplace hazards and improve unsafe conditions proactively</li>\n   <li>Act quickly and safely in response to incidents or emergency situations</li>\n   <li>Promote a proactive safety culture focused on risk reduction</li>\n  </ul><h3><strong>Safety Initiatives & Key Focus Areas</strong></h3>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Support <strong>New Hire injury prevention programs</strong>, including observations and engagement</li>\n   <li>Drive <strong>Hand & Finger injury prevention efforts</strong></li>\n   <li>Coordinate and support <strong>Safety Board activities</strong></li>\n   <li>Participate actively in <strong>Safety Committee meetings</strong>, providing guidance and resources</li>\n   <li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in safety performance</li>\n  </ul><h3><strong>Training & Development</strong></h3>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Conduct safety training programs across various shifts, including:\n    <ul>\n     <li>New Hire Safety Training (backup to Training Coordinator)</li>\n     <li>Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO)</li>\n     <li>Confined Space Entry</li>\n     <li>Material Handling</li>\n     <li>Machine Guarding</li>\n    </ul></li>\n   <li>Train and mentor new Safety Technicians</li>\n   <li>Promote employee awareness through ongoing safety education</li>\n  </ul><h3><strong>Communication & Collaboration</strong></h3>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Communicate safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to supervisors and employees</li>\n   <li>Partner with front-line management to reinforce safety expectations</li>\n   <li>Provide guidance and support to employees regarding safe work practices</li>\n   <li>Collaborate with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team on initiatives and reporting</li>\n  </ul><h3><strong>Operational & Administrative Support</strong></h3>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Maintain safety records, audit documentation, and training logs</li>\n   <li>Support EHS team with technical and administrative tasks as needed</li>\n   <li>Ensure adherence to hygiene, housekeeping, and safety standards</li>\n   <li>Perform additional duties as assigned by Management</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>*These tasks are considered essential elements of the job.</strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management or a related field <strong>or</strong> equivalent demonstrated safety experience in a manufacturing environment</li>\n <li>Minimum of <strong>3–5 years of safety experience</strong> in a manufacturing setting</li>\n <li>Professional certification preferred but not required</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Knowledge & Skills</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations</li>\n <li>Experience with safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations</li>\n <li>Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards preferred</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis</li>\n <li>Effective communication and training skills</li>\n <li>Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization</li>\n <li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Additional Requirements</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment</li>\n <li>Must be willing to work flexible hours and support multiple shifts</li>\n <li>Ability to work mandatory overtime as needed</li>\n <li>Regular attendance is required</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Work Environment</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, equipment, and industrial processes</li>\n <li>Frequent interaction
