    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>We have an opportunity to impact your career and provide an adventure where you can push the limits of what's possible.</p><p><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth Management - Asset and Wealth Management Technology &amp; Operations team, you will be an integral part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.</span></p><p><span><strong>Job responsibilities:</strong></span></p><ul><li><span>Collaborate with engineers to design, build, and deploy applications aligned with business and functional requirements.</span></li><li><span>Contribute to Java-based microservices using streaming, non-blocking, and reactive programming paradigms; write production-quality code.</span></li><li><span><strong>Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.</strong></span></li><li><span><strong>Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.</strong></span></li><li><span>Work with Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes (K8s), Redis, Amazon MSK, and AWS services to deliver scalable, efficient systems.</span></li><li><span>Support domain-driven design adoption and participate in architectural discussions.</span></li><li><span>Contribute to technical documentation and service APIs (Swagger/OpenAPI), ensuring strong logging, auditability, security, and monitoring.</span></li><li><span>Participate in API design sessions and help select appropriate design patterns and integration approaches.</span></li><li><span>Engage in code reviews; promote TDD/BDD practices to ensure maintainability and quality.</span></li><li><span>Assist in demonstrating service scalability and resilience using mock frameworks, performance testing, and related tools.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></span></li><li><span>Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies</span></li><li><span>Add to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.</span></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span><strong>Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span>Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience.</span></li><li><span><strong>Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.</strong></span></li><li><span><strong>Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices</strong></span></li><li><span>8+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems with large data volumes and real-time distribution.</span></li><li><span>Solid Java proficiency with a strong willingness to code hands-on.</span></li><li><span>Practical understanding of CI/CD, DevOps toolchains, and agile, test-driven delivery.</span></li><li><span>Hands-on experience with reactive, non-blocking, streaming Java; microservices; domain-driven design; and cloud technologies.</span></li><li><span>Experience with:</span><ul><li><span>Caching: Redis, GemFire, or Apache Ignite</span></li><li><span>Messaging/streaming: Kafka, IBM MQ</span></li></ul></li><li><span>Working knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, and event-driven architectures.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></span></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span><strong>Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:</strong></span></p><ul><li><span>Experience with the Spring ecosystem and AWS cloud services.</span></li><li><span>Familiarity with trading systems; exposure to the FIX protocol is a plus.</span></li><li><span>Ability to solve complex, mission-critical problems with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.</span></li><li><span>Continuous learner and early adopter of emerging technologies and methodologies.</span></li></ul>",
