    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<div>\n WAGE: $29.57\n</div>\n<div>\n DEPARTMENT: Weber County Sheriff's Office\n</div>\n<div>\n PERSONNEL STATUS: Full Time\n</div>\n<div>\n BENEFITS: Health, Dental, Vision, Retirement, 401k match, Sick/Vacation, Life Insurance, Short-term Disability, Accident, Critical Illness; Parental Leave; Maternity Leave\n</div>\n<div>\n <br>\n &nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n <p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong><u>JOB OVERVIEW:</u></strong></p>\n <p>Under the supervision of a Utah Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) training facility, incumbents in this position are in a training mode for the period required to obtain Utah Peace Officer Certifications, to include: Special Functions Officer (SFO), Basic Corrections Officer (BCO) and/or Law Enforcement Officer (LEO).</p>\n <p>Two (2) year employment contract to be signed at time of hire in order to recoup costs associated to fees regarding: Academy Registration, Tuition, Certification, etc.</p>\n <p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong><u>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</u></strong></p>\n <p>Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this class.</p>\n <p>Participates in and completes all training requirements for the position of Deputy Sheriff within the Weber County Sheriff's Office to include classroom study, physical training, scenario based training, and, on the job training.</p>\n <p>Utah POST Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) Entrance Standard:</p>\n <p>-Vertical Jump: 15 Inches (3 attempts)</p>\n <p>-Push-Ups: 16 reps with no time constraint and no rest period</p>\n <p>-Isometric Plank: 1 minute (1:00) minimum</p>\n <p>-1.5 Mile Run: 15 minute 37 second (15:37) maximum time</p>\n <p>Performs other related duties as required.</p>\n <p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><i>Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this class. Applicants must be prepared to demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.</i></p>\n <p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong><u>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></p>\n <p style=\"margin-left:0in\">None</p>\n <p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong><u>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:</u></strong></p>\n <p>Education: High school diploma or equivalent.</p>\n <p>Experience: No experience required.</p>\n <p>Training: Meet minimum requirements for Law Enforcement Peace Officer Certification, as outlined in Utah State Code 536203 and, upon completion of the Academy assignment, 536205.</p>\n <p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):</u></strong></p>\n <p>Knowledge: Some knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment; some knowledge of typing and data entry procedures; working knowledge of spelling and grammar rules.</p>\n <p>Skills: Skilled in operating a computer.</p>\n <p>Abilities: Ability to successfully complete the Peace Officer Entrance Examination; ability to successfully meet P.O.S.T. physical fitness requirements.</p>\n <p><strong><u>YOUR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong><u>:</u></p>\n <p>Must qualify for Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) at the completion of the required training.</p>\n <p>Must be a minimum of 21 years at the time of hire</p>\n <p>Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid State driver's license without record of suspension or revocation in any State</p>\n <p>Must be a U.S. citizen</p>\n <p>Must be able to read and write the English language</p>\n <p>Must be found suitable for employment as a result of a background investigation and polygraph examination completed by the Weber County Sheriff's Office.</p>\n <p>Must pass a drug screening as required by Weber County.</p>\n <p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong><u>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</u></strong></p>\n <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
