We are especially interested in and give preference to candidates who demonstrate a vision to create and nurture initiatives that will advance our mission within the scope of their duties and who will foster a culture of dialogue that, with respect for all people, supports the search for meaning and purpose in pursuit of excellence.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>\n<p>Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota invites candidates to apply for a full-time, renewable, fixed-term faculty position teaching primarily accounting and finance courses in the Business and Communication Department starting August 2026. The standard teaching load is 22-24 credit hours per contract year, covering the disciplines of accounting, finance, economics, and others. Contributions to Saint Mary’s general education and Honors curriculum may also be included in this position. Classes may include lower-level and upper-level accounting, economics, and finance classes. The position operates within the undergraduate Business and Communication Department in Winona, MN.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000</p>\n<p><strong>Main Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Teaching a minimum of 12 credits per semester</li>\n <li>Academic advising</li>\n <li>Academic Scholarship</li>\n <li>Service to the University, profession, and community</li>\n <li>Professional Development</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience and Education Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>The successful candidate will possess a doctorate, MBA, or other Master’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance. </li>\n <li>CPA, CMA, CFA, CFP, or related accounting or financial professional certifications are preferred</li>\n <li>Candidates should possess knowledge and skills in learning strategies, instructional technology, and content delivery. </li>\n <li>Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is deeply committed to the success of our students. As such, candidates must demonstrate strong interest and ability in advising and mentoring students in group and individual settings. </li>\n <li>Candidates must also desire to serve our colleagues through multi-disciplinary collaboration and to engage in service to the University and discipline. Potential faculty must have a strong record of (or clear potential for) excellence in teaching, advising, and scholarship with a commitment to professional development and improvement</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Knowledge & Skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong record of accomplishment in college-level teaching in a full-time or adjunct role.</li>\n <li>Professional experience in accounting and/or finance is preferred.</li>\n <li>May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Sedentary work.</strong> Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
