Description

Job Overview & Responsibilities The Director of District Operations (DDO) serves as the strategic and operational leader for clinics within an assigned geographic region. This role is responsible for driving clinical and operational excellence, leading high-performing teams, and ensuring that every clinic consistently delivers outstanding patient care and customer service. Working in close partnership with the Regional Vice President (RVP), the DDO provides clinical expertise, operational oversight, and leadership development to support the company’s mission, culture, and growth. This position blends business strategy, clinical excellence, and people leadership to ensure that each point of service thrives. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Lead and support Clinic Managers (CMs) and Senior Clinic Managers (SCMs) across all district clinics. Develop and execute strategic action plans that drive engagement, operational efficiency, and team performance. Maintain an active and visible presence—spending majority of time in clinics—focused on culture, staff coaching, and quality patient experiences. Host regular district meetings and operational review calls to ensure consistent communication and alignment. Oversee all facility maintenance and ensure clinics meet compliance and quality standards, including federal, state, and local regulations. Financial & Business Management Oversee district financial performance and participate in annual budget development. Analyze financial reports, identify trends, and create actionable plans to improve EBITDA and operational outcomes. Serve as hiring manager for all clinical roles, including interviewing, offer approvals, and compensation planning. Ensure accurate billing practices and operational compliance across all clinics. Talent Development & Clinical Excellence Mentor and coach clinic leaders, therapists, and students—building a strong pipeline of emerging talent and future leaders. Conduct monthly 1:1s with CMs and SCMs, and quarterly skip-level meetings to ensure open communication and professional growth. Facilitate ongoing education through CEU participation (minimum two annually) and encourage staff involvement. Lead district-level initiatives that reinforce best practices in patient care, clinical outcomes, and service standards. Recruiting & Community Engagement Maintain an active pipeline of new therapists through ongoing recruitment and relationship building. Partner with the Talent Acquisition, Sales, and University Relations teams to support regional recruiting and student programs. Oversee physician and community relationship development to enhance brand visibility and drive referrals. Plan and lead community engagement and staff appreciation events, aligning efforts with company culture and marketing goals. Clinical Care Provide direct patient care to reduce barriers to access, support clinic operations, or model best practices. Ensure all clinical care meets the standards of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and state practice acts. Support staff through side-by-side coaching and mentorship on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. Qualifications & Pay Range Qualifications Licensed Physical Therapist (Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy) Minimum of 5–7 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in multi-site or regional management Demonstrated success in driving operational performance, financial results, and team engagement Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills Ability to travel regularly across assigned district Compensation Salary Range: $125,000-$150,000 plus a variable incentive plan Company Overview Expanding Access to Quality Care At PT Solutions, we’re more than colleagues; we’re a tight-knit community united in our mission to expand access to quality care.
