Even if you feel like you don’t meet all criteria, please give it a shot, and still apply. </em><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Vacancy type:</span> <em>This posting is for an existing vacancy.</em></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">About the Position:</span></span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p>The <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Director of Finance</span> position offers the right person the exciting opportunity to take the next step in their career journey or an experienced Director who is seeking a new challenge in a dynamic role.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Primary activities include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide financial and accounting oversight for Walter’s Group’s lines of business including corporate investments – Metropolitan-Walters LLC, DSCO, Thai Walters Engineering, Walter’s Field Services USA LLC, etc.</li>\n<li>Cash Management .</li>\n<li>Work with Departmental Leaders to develop and oversee Walter’s Group of companies’ annual budgets including variance analysis.</li>\n<li>Exemplify a culture of continuous improvement to automate processes, save time and provide management with improved analytics for decision making.</li>\n<li>Project Accounting, oversee the preparation of work in progress adjustments.</li>\n<li>Oversee and prepares financial statements for holding companies and joint ventures.</li>\n<li>Ensure financial processes are compliant with regulatory requirements.</li>\n<li>Oversee the month-end accounting cycle for the Walters operating group of companies – Walters Inc, Walters Field Services Inc, Walters Group International LLC and Walter’ Field Services USA LLC</li>\n<li>Prepare and review the monthly Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Analysis. Prepare Board reporting packages.</li>\n<li>Conduct monthly analysis of project performance to budget. Work with the Project Management and Sales Teams.</li>\n<li>Respond to insurance enquiries and certificate requests</li>\n<li>On an annual basis with the VP of Finance, review and renew liability insurance requirements</li>\n<li>Work with surety companies to ensure appropriate insurance coverage</li>\n<li>Manage external auditors, SRED Consultants or other financial advisors as required</li>\n<li>Along with VP Finance, determine tax policy for the Walters Group of Companies and its affiliates</li>\n<li>Respond to the CRA/ WSIB audit queries and audits.</li>\n<li>As a Senior member of the Finance team, provide guidance and exemplify Walters’ Core Values.</li>\n<li>With VP Finance, draft and implement standard operating procedures for the Finance team.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Work Location:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Head office in Hamilton ON.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Requirements:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A university degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.</li>\n<li>CPA, CA (or equivalent) designation.</li>\n<li>A minimum of 5 years of experience with full accounting cycle responsibility.<br></li>\n<li>Project Accounting experience in the Construction Industry.</li>\n<li>Budget development and maintenance.</li>\n<li>Corporate tax knowledge and compliance.<br></li>\n<li>Experience with year-end audit (prep, reporting, fielding questions, etc.)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Desired Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Project Accounting experience in the structural steel construction industry.</li>\n<li>Accounting System / ERP implementation experience.<br></li>\n<li>Experience dealing with financial lenders.<br></li>\n<li>Knowledge and ability to operate and manage computerized financial and payroll information systems.</li>\n<li>A team player with the ability to work and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.</li>\n<li>Integrity, positive attitude with a strong work and business ethics.</li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize and multi-task successfully.</li>\n<li>Well-developed interpersonal skills.</li>\n<li>Analytical and problem-solving skills.</li>\n<li>Decision making skills.</li>\n<li>Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.</li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with all levels of management.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Compensation Package:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paid sick and Bereavement leaves.</li>\n<li>Flexible extended health and dental care packages.</li>\n<li>Employee Assistance Program.</li>\n<li>RRSP Matching.</li>\n<li>Profit Sharing.</li>\n<li>Employee Family Scholarship Program.</li>\n<li>Tuition support (Apprentice, Continued Education)</li>\n<li>Values in Action (ViA)- participating in charity events coordinated by employees.
