You will work in a collaborative, technology-driven environment with opportunities to grow, lead, and make a difference every day. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Baptist Health Hospitals offer great NEW Competitive Pay and great fulltime & part-time benefits package that includes:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical, Dental, Vision</li>\n <li>403(b) Retirement Savings Plan </li>\n <li>Health Savings Account (HSA)</li>\n <li>Flexible Spending Account (FSA)</li>\n <li>Life Insurance </li>\n <li>Extended Leave Plan (ELP) </li>\n <li>Family Care (child care, elder care, pet care)</li>\n <li>Paid Parental Leave</li>\n <li>Pet Insurance </li>\n <li>Car Insurance </li>\n <li>Educational benefits including tuition reimbursement & monthly payments to help pay down any graduated school debt</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong><u>ALL benefits start day one</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p>\n<p>Performs moderately complex general laboratory testing in the area(s) of licensure under the direction of a Medical Technologist.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs and reports routine laboratory testing following established policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of laboratory results within established timeframes. </li>\n <li>Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability. </li>\n <li>Performs, evaluates, and documents all quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates computer system proficiency including ordering, resulting, and inquiry functions. </li>\n <li>Ensures proper utilization and preparation of reagents and supplies. </li>\n <li>Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver. </li>\n <li>Regularly reports all unusual findings to the immediate supervisor. </li>\n <li>Regularly reports work activities and pending work to the oncoming technologist.</li>\n <li>Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health and Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.</li>\n <li>Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health and Orlando Health policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Assumes one or more of the following responsibilities under the supervision of the Medical Technologist or Team Leader: supply/reagent ordering or preparation, primary operator of minor instrumentation, projects, or teaching/training. </li>\n <li>Performs specimen collection procedures, specimen receiving and processing as required. </li>\n <li>Answers the telephone and greets guests to the department. </li>\n <li>Maintains current job knowledge in order to effectively instruct students or other personnel. </li>\n <li>Responsible for an active role in the laboratory quality improvement program including performance and evaluation of key quality indicators. </li>\n <li>Follows the established policies and procedures to meet regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. </li>\n <li>Practices infection control and safety practices and keeps a clean and organized work area. </li>\n <li>Maintains confidentiality of patient record, hospital and departmental matters at all times. </li>\n <li>Perform other duties as directed under supervision of Medical Technologist or Team Leader.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education/Training: </strong>Graduate from an approved school of medical laboratory technician. Associate degree in related field.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure/Certification: </strong>Current license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician as required by Alabama Department of Health. Certified in area(s) of laboratory where assigned.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong> None</p>",
