Description
Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Security Manager or designate, the Surveillance Operator position is responsible for daily monitoring and observation of Casino operations, while ensuring the security and integrity of Casino assets, staff and guests. A Surveillance Operator ensures adherence to the company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian Gaming’s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Surveillance Operators will also conduct routine checks of the gaming floor and act as a support to other gaming departments in relation to the protection of company assets. Attention to detail and sound observation skills are critical when conducting reviews, writing and completing reports and logs that could be used for evidence in legal proceedings. In this role, one must enforce and comply with Alcohol and Gaming Commission and OLG standards.
Key Accountabilities:
Monitoring, documenting and reporting internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities; prepares electronic statements via a non-gaming record keeping system
Enforcing restricted access by unauthorized persons
Observing cashier transactions, slot drops, chip/hopper fills and transfers; escorts cash and cash equivalent movements
Tagging and reporting found property; transferring items to Lost and Found
Conducting regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed
Escorting guests and employees as directed
Performing identification checks as required
Referring disputes to the Supervisor, Security
Monitors, documents and reports procedural violations, large cash/cash equivalents transactions, excluded and self-excluded guests and unauthorized access; reports violations to the supervisor
Must be proficient with computers
Must be reliable and diligent, while maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality
Maintains accurate and concise logs and records
Investigative skills required to report and document all irregular, unusual, suspicious and/or illegal activities
Possesses strong communication skills to effectively deal with all appropriate operational departments
Ensures health and safety directives are followed, as well as, other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Ensures compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulation, as well as, all applicable laws, policies and procedures.
Ability to work all shifts (This includes evenings, weekends and holidays)
Knowledge of gaming industry considered an asset
Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
Educational and Functional Requirements:
You must be able to work on an as needed or when needed basis (hours may vary depending on operational needs) in a variety of shifts including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, graveyards and weekends as we operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous security experience an asset but not required
Gaming Security Officer (GSO) course an asset
Security Guard Licence is an asset
Can understand, speak and write English; fluency in other languages an asset
Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
The ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record Check through the Independent Gambling Control Officer (IGCO)
A commitment to continually increase your knowledge of our products and services in order to offer exceptional experiences to our guests
