Description Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Security Manager or designate, the Surveillance Operator position is responsible for daily monitoring and observation of Casino operations, while ensuring the security and integrity of Casino assets, staff and guests. A Surveillance Operator ensures adherence to the company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian Gaming’s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Surveillance Operators will also conduct routine checks of the gaming floor and act as a support to other gaming departments in relation to the protection of company assets. Attention to detail and sound observation skills are critical when conducting reviews, writing and completing reports and logs that could be used for evidence in legal proceedings. In this role, one must enforce and comply with Alcohol and Gaming Commission and OLG standards. Key Accountabilities: Monitoring, documenting and reporting internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities; prepares electronic statements via a non-gaming record keeping system Enforcing restricted access by unauthorized persons Observing cashier transactions, slot drops, chip/hopper fills and transfers; escorts cash and cash equivalent movements Tagging and reporting found property; transferring items to Lost and Found Conducting regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed Escorting guests and employees as directed Performing identification checks as required Referring disputes to the Supervisor, Security Monitors, documents and reports procedural violations, large cash/cash equivalents transactions, excluded and self-excluded guests and unauthorized access; reports violations to the supervisor Must be proficient with computers Must be reliable and diligent, while maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality Maintains accurate and concise logs and records Investigative skills required to report and document all irregular, unusual, suspicious and/or illegal activities Possesses strong communication skills to effectively deal with all appropriate operational departments Ensures health and safety directives are followed, as well as, other statutory regulations Performs other duties as assigned or directed Ensures compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulation, as well as, all applicable laws, policies and procedures. Ability to work all shifts (This includes evenings, weekends and holidays) Knowledge of gaming industry considered an asset Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication Educational and Functional Requirements: You must be able to work on an as needed or when needed basis (hours may vary depending on operational needs) in a variety of shifts including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, graveyards and weekends as we operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
