This position is onsite and located in Yokosuka, Japan.</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Work closely with clinical staff and/or base personnel regarding patient awareness of mental health wellness programs<br>(addictions, stress management, group therapies).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Provide patient consultations requested by Naval Hospital staff health care providers within guidelines established by the<br>Naval Hospital.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Deliver records and reports required to document procedures performed and care provided utilizing the Health Maintenance<br>Strategies International Manual (HMSI) standards.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed by government supervisor.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the Command/Government Supervisor.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Actively participate in the command’s Performance Improvement Program. Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the<br>care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when<br>problems exist.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate<br>persons, and documenting events. Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Comply with the standards of The Joint Commission, applicable provisions of law, and the rules and regulations of any and all<br>governmental authorities pertaining to licensure and regulation of health care personnel and medical treatment facilities, the<br>regulations and standards of medical practice and the MTF’s medical staff bylaws.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Provide training and/or direction as applicable to supporting government employees (e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentra's, and Clinical Information System (CIS),<br>participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed by the<br>Commander.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Attend and participate in various meetings as directed by government supervisor.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The HealthCare Worker (HCW) shall comply with the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) privacy and<br>security policies of the treatment facility. Providers shall obtain/maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) in accordance<br>with DOD and MT policy/instruction, as applicable.<br><a href=\"https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/</a></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and prepare such records and reports as<br>may be required.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Abbreviations must be only those listed in local instructions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Provide On-Call services as required, including returning phone calls within 15 minutes of notification.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Provide Call-Back services as required, including being able to render services within one hour of notification.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">NECESSARY SKILLS &amp; KNOWLEDGE: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Adhere to and comply with the Department of the Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and local instructions and notices in<br>effect during the term of the contract.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Practice aseptic techniques as necessary; comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling, storage,<br>and disposal of infectious wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights, as identified within the MTF.</span><br><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Maintain DoD email account as directed by government supervisor.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Exercise appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient<br>care, and clinic activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, Department of Defense, Department of Navy, Bureau of Medicine<br>and Surgery, and MTF instructions and policies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently and maintain good communication skills with<br>patients another health care personnel.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Have completed a residency training program in Psychiatry and neurology approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate<br>Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian<br>training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian<br>medical authority.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Possess and maintain Board Certification in Psychiatry.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Have a minimum of 1-year full-time experience as a Psychiatrist within the last 3 years.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">HCW shall be in good standing, and under no restrictions, with the state licensure board in any state in which a license is held<br>or has been held within the last 10 years.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">HCW shall be in good standing and under no sanction or suspension by the Federal Government.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Possess and maintain current certification in either the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American<br>Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Ability to pass all background/suitability checks.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">A valid driver’s license;
