    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities & Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>RESPONSIBILITIES</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify and distinguish properties and types of copper/fiber optic cable</li>\n <li>Interpret blueprints</li>\n <li>Inventory job supplies and materials</li>\n <li>Verify and comply with site safety plan</li>\n <li>Build telecommunication spaces (e.g., TRs, ERs, EFs, TEs)</li>\n <li>Install grounding/bonding infrastructure</li>\n <li>Install cable support systems (e.g. J Hooks, EMT conduit, wire basket tray)</li>\n <li>Prepare telecommunication outlet at wall, floor, utility column (power pole)</li>\n <li>Install cut-in rings (cavity box)</li>\n <li>Install sleeves</li>\n <li>Install poke throughs between floors</li>\n <li>Install Inner Duct for fiber optic cable</li>\n <li>Install cable supports systems under the floor</li>\n <li>Install firestop and/or smoke barrier system</li>\n <li>Pull horizontal cables from closet to work area</li>\n <li>Pull backbone cables between closets</li>\n <li>Remove abandoned cable</li>\n <li>Perform copper terminations</li>\n <li>Perform fiber terminations</li>\n <li>Perform fiber optic splicing (e.g. fusion, mechanical)</li>\n <li>Perform fiber cable - basic troubleshooting (e.g., power meter or VFL)</li>\n <li>Perform Tier 1 fiber certification testing (power meter)</li>\n <li>Perform Tier 2 fiber testing using OTDR</li>\n <li>Perform labeling according to a labeling scheme</li>\n <li>Adhere to local, state, and federal fire and/or building codes and/or standards</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Experience:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be US Citizen</li>\n <li>Obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance within 12 months of hire.</li>\n <li>5+ years of cabling experience in the data communications industry.</li>\n <li>Experience with wired and wireless environments, including 802.11a/b/g/n standards.</li>\n <li>Experience in organizing and leading network installations, including on-site assessments and technical plan preparation.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with engineering documentation, network topologies, and cabling infrastructure standards.</li>\n <li>Experience in interpreting technical documentation and performing work per industry-standard installation practices.</li>\n <li>Must have Aerial lift training</li>\n <li>Must have Confined Space training</li>\n <li>Must have Forklift training</li>\n <li>Must have ten (10) Hour OSHA Basic Industry course</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Skills:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong understanding of telecommunications and data cabling systems, materials, and testing procedures.</li>\n <li>Ability to install and terminate copper and fiber cabling infrastructure.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in coordinating and documenting technical installation processes.</li>\n <li>Physical capability to perform manual tasks in physically demanding environments.</li>\n <li>Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure scenarios.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Certifications:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Obtain and maintain active BICSI Technician, Installer certification </p></li>\n <li><p>Other Certifications: BICSI Level 1 and / or Level 2 copper and fiber as required. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are seeking a Network Installation Technician to join our team supporting Enterprise Infrastructure Installation Support.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>TekSynap is a fast-growing high-tech company that understands both the pace of technology today and the need to have a comprehensive well planned information management environment. “Technology moving at the speed of thought” embodies these principles – the need to nimbly utilize the best that information technology offers to meet the business needs of our Federal Government customers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We offer our full-time employees a competitive benefits package to include health, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability plans, vacation time and holidays. </p>\n<p>Visit us at www.TekSynap.com. </p>\n<p>Apply now to explore jobs with us!  </p>\n<p>The safety and health of our employees is of the utmost importance.
