Description

SUMMARY Responsible for live sound operation in the venue and potentially other outlets as well as artist communication and relations and venue management. CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for live sound in venue Will work directly with artist / artist’s booking agent / artist’s manager in dealing with tech riders - show advancement Upkeep and maintenance of in house sound system Setup and breakdown of sound gear Expected to help artist load in and load out Maintenance of sound storage space Live liaison between engineer and bands Will report to and work directly with Venue Booking and Promotions Manager. Day of show Duties: Follow up with artist / tour manager To confirm load in / soundcheck times Finalize guest list Ask for final social media blast from band Give any additional instruction on check in, load in, directions, parking, etc. 2. Set up gear: PA, mics, etc using band stage plot and advanced tech rider. 3. Test gear with ample time before load-in 4. Replace or fix any gear that may not be working 5. Make sure hospitality is setup and room is clean and comfortable 6. Greet artist and assist with load in 7. Make artist feel welcome and help with any needs they may have 8. Sound check artist, being flexible and friendly, but also stick to set sound check times as closely as possible. 9. When managing sound during the show, communicate with artist and be on board for entire performance. 10. Be able to help artist with any questions about payment, drink tickets, etc. 11. After performance, help band load out. SUPPORTING FUNCTIONS In addition to the core focus & responsibilities, the candidate is expected to complete the following duties: Attend hotel operational meetings. Assist Booking and Promotions Manager as well as any other manager as needed. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Knowledge of current audio technology, live mixing and reinforcement, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting is a must. Experience in analog and digital audio consoles required. Excellent hearing, ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and heavy lifting is required. Responsibilities include live mixing (FOH & Monitor) and show operation, load-in, strike, changeover and system maintenance Must have a positive attitude, a true love for music and musicians and a desire to give musicians and the audience the best experience possible; treating artists with the utmost respect is central to this position Ability to satisfactorily communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding. Prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution. Have superb time management skills. Mathematical, and reasoning abilities. Ability to comply with physical demands. Knowledge and understanding of Atelier & Ace Culture & initiatives Technologically sound with basic spreadsheet and word processing applications.SA REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum 2 years of live musical mixing experience at a professional level required. LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, and REASONING ABILITIES Candidate must meet the following cognitive abilities: Ability to acknowledge artist requests in a polite manner. Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English. Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to address and problem solve. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The typical environment is a music venue with ambient room temperatures and ambient lighting. Walk and stand continuously. Lift / carry up to 80lbs. Bend, squat, crawl, and reach above shoulder level. May be exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, dampness, height, and moving machinery.
