Description
The Program Director is the clinical and administrative team leader of the Dore Urgent Care Clinic, primary responsibility is to manage and directly supervise the work flow of the Clinic, a community based Mental health crisis intervention and assessment center. This includes ensuring that all services are consistent with the Progress Foundation philosophy of Social Rehabilitation. The Program Director oversees the day to day functions of the clinic and is responsible for ensuring that DUCC staff works as a connected and cohesive unit in order to effectively respond to the needs of a diverse client population in distress. This role requires a high energy cross functional project manager, team builder and staff leader with a strong clinical background and excellent communication, crisis management and investigative skills. DUCC is unique in the San Francisco Behavioral Health community. The client centered program continues to evolve in a positive way and strives to provide the community, particularly the economically disadvantaged and vulnerable residents of San Francisco, with crisis intervention that is effective, culturally competent, and compassionate.
The Program Director ensures that the regulatory components of the DUCC program are well integrated and operated in a manner that is consistent with prevailing standards of psychiatric and medical care, with applicable Federal, State, City and County laws and regulations, and with Progress Foundation policies and procedures.
In addition, the Program Director is responsible for assisting in personnel operations, supervision and coaching, developing and maintaining effective relationships with clients, support people, and with the community, and for the comfort, safety, non-institutional ambiance, and overall physical condition of the facility environment. The Program Director may also be required to participate in community trainings like the CBHS 5150 training.
The Program Director must work in conjunction with the leadership of the adjoining Crisis Residential Treatment Program, Dore House, as well as the other Acute Diversion Units and Residential Treatment programs. The DUCC provides clinical support and intervention and is consistently and efficiently linked with those programs in order to achieve continuity of care.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Valid and current California license as a Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
Minimum 3 years experience in a crisis mental health setting
Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinic management, staff supervision, scheduling, and budgeting
Must have or develop knowledge of Social rehabilitation philosophy and mental health recovery models
Must be able to communicate effectively with medical and mental health staff, clients, family members and providers both orally and in writing.
Must be able to work effectively on computers and computer based information systems
Must comply with the Progress Foundation code of ethics.
