JOB SUMMARY: The Area Foreman will monitor and document the designated work area's progress, up to and including the quality and quantity of work performed by the job crew. They will serve as the liaison between the job superintendent and the workforce. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Perform skilled labor duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment, including but not limited to: Work with Superintendents to plan, organize, and direct the work of job crew employees daily. Maintain familiarity with plans, specifications, and job folder contract scope. Attend coordination meetings as required and provide the necessary information. Receive and review weekly job assignments. Prepare sketches that might assist with installations. Complete a detailed list of all required materials, tools, and manpower for job assignments and communicate requirements with the direct Superintendent. Assist in the monitoring and documentation of the progress of the job using appropriate forms and procedures as directed by the Superintendent. Provide the workforce with current and accurate information as generated by the Superintendent, including RFI's, memorandums, and other communication devices. Assist in communicating company policies and procedures to the job crew. Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Codes as needed. Order daily materials as needed for your work area and follow up on backorders as necessary through the Superintendent. Monitor and manage tool control for assigned site location(s). Monitor and track employee work time as necessary and assist the Superintendent and workforce in the proper coding of timecards as required. Be available to the team for any questions regarding tasks being performed. Ensure the job site is properly cleaned up at the end of each workday. Ensure compliance with all job safety standards established by Tri-City and all regulatory agencies. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities per the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum four (4) years of electrical construction experience with working knowledge of National Electrical Codes Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules, and safety Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, order of operations) to calculate labor, materials, and/or cost estimates for projects and work orders, etc. Must have excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills, and a strong safety background Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language at a 12th-grade level High School Diploma or GED PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bilingual Journeyman License Completion of an indentured apprenticeship program OSHA 10 PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES | SKILLS: Supports our Mission Statement and Core Values. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a construction job site environment and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions, or inside conditions. While performing this job's duties, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may be occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. Often exposed to loud sounds and noise levels as well as very bright or inadequate lighting conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Regular exposure to dirt, hazardous equipment, wiring, and underground and/or elevated heights. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. Ability to wear company-approved Personal Protective Equipment per local, state, federal, or OSHA regulations. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Requires the ability to perform physical duties listed above for extended periods. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. SCHEDULE AND REQUIRED TRAVEL: Requires the ability to report to job sites throughout Florida; locations vary depending on the individual's home location. May be requested to work overtime, nights, and weekends.
