    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Mechanical Designer</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Job Location: Melville, NY (100% onsite) </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Salary: $100,000-$125,000/yr DOE</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Create detailed technical drawings, and schematics based on specifications provided by engineering.</li>\n <li>Utilize CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks) to produce accurate and precise drawings.</li>\n <li>Revise drawings based on feedback from engineering and manufacturing. Ensure all changes are incorporated accurately.</li>\n <li>Use best judgement to solve complex design problems.</li>\n <li>Create designs which consider cost, simplicity, and production feasibility.</li>\n <li>Provide recommendations for material selection.</li>\n <li>Assist in cost and direct labor estimates as required.</li>\n <li>Work closely with engineering and project management to understand requirements and objectives.</li>\n <li>Communicate effectively with team members to ensure clarity and accuracy in the design process.</li>\n <li>Attend project meetings to provide input and updates on design progress.</li>\n <li>Foster a positive work environment by maintaining professional courteous conduct and communication with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendor.</li>\n <li>Ensure all drawings comply with military, commercial, and international industry standards, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements.</li>\n <li>Conduct quality checks on drawings produced by junior drafters, peer designers and engineering, to ensure accuracy and completeness.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain drafting standards and procedures to improve efficiency and consistency.</li>\n <li>Maintain organized records of all drawings and related documents.</li>\n <li>Ensure all files are properly stored and accessible for future reference.</li>\n <li>Stay updated with the latest developments in CAD software and drafting techniques.</li>\n <li>Propose and implement improvements to drafting processes to enhance productivity and accuracy.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 6 years prior experience or Master’s degree and a minimum of 4 years prior experience.  </li>\n <li>Proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor. Siemens PADS and CAM 350 a plus.</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.</li>\n <li>Costpoint, ERP systems, Microsoft Office proficiency</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Stellant Systems is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
