Description

Overview Samaritan Daytop Village is seeking a detail-oriented, mission-driven Research Associate to support program evaluation and reporting for our behavioral health and transitional housing programs. The ideal candidate is proficient in data analysis and is passionate about leveraging data to improve client outcomes and inform strategic decision-making. Reporting to the Director of Program Evaluation and Research, the Research Associate will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing and interpreting data to support our commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement. Responsibilities Extract and clean data from Electronic Health Records (EHR); conduct descriptive statistical analyses using tools such as Excel or R Prepare reports, presentations, and print materials for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies, ensuring full compliance with reporting standards Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau to support internal decision-making and reporting Design and implement surveys and other assessment tools; conduct focus groups and summarize qualitative findings Collaborate with program staff to coordinate and monitor ongoing data collection efforts Translate findings into accessible insights for key stakeholders, including executive leadership, frontline staff, and community partners Participate in cross-functional meetings to align data strategy with programmatic goals Ensure data integrity and compliance with all relevant privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA Qualifications 1–2 years of relevant experience, ideally within a human services or healthcare setting Proficiency in Excel and/or R for statistical analysis and data management Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI (preferred) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Passion for social impact and a deep commitment to improving outcomes for individuals affected by adversity and systemic inequities Additional Information This is a full-time non-exempt role with an hourly rate of $31.86-$34.34 (annualized at 35 hours a week to $58,000-$62,500) with a full benefits package. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 25 days of paid time off, access to a retirement account with an employer match, and tuition reimbursement. The rate offered within the listed range is dependent on skills, experience, and organizational pay equity. This role is located at the Samaritan Daytop Village Headquarters in Briarwood, Queens and has a schedule of Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm. There is also an option to work 2 days per week remotely.
