    "description": "<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">The Opportunity</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The part-time Hockey Instructor is responsible for ensuring the safety, care and enjoyment of the registrants in Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs at the Bell Sensplex or Richcraft Sensplex. This position will remain open for future hiring purposes. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ongoing Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Responsible for ensuring the safety, enjoyment and care of the participants</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Follow the on ice program set out by the Head Instructor</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Constantly being involved in error-detection &amp; correction of all participants to enhance their skills and enjoyment in hockey</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Responsible for following policies and schedules set out by the Head Instructor (e.g. signing in and out procedures, schedule of activities, etc)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Responsible for engaging the participants in a fun, enjoyable and educational hockey experience</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Other duties as assigned by the Head Instructor</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\">Health &amp; Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health &amp; Safety Act (OHSA) are adhered to, specifically:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability (AODA), Customer Service Standards</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">AODA, the Integrated Accessibility Standards</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ontario Worker Health &amp; Safety Awareness</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">WHMIS 2015 (GHS)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Violence and Harassment in the Workplace</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\">Training</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Responsible for completing on-line training modules as required, including, but not limited to:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Using or wearing protective equipment, devises or clothing when required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Reporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Reporting any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or Senators Sports &amp; Entertainment policies and procedures</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">May also be required to attend on-site training sessions as scheduled.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications (what we look for)</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Previous hockey/skating experience at a high level</span></li>\n<li><span>Comfortable and enjoy working with children</span></li>\n<li><span>Strong teaching skills</span></li>\n<li><span>Team player</span></li>\n<li><span>Professional demeanor</span></li>\n<li><span>Excellent communication skills, bilingual (French &amp; English) an asset</span></li>\n<li><span>Strong work ethic</span></li>\n<li><span>Must be at least 15 years of age</span></li>\n<li><span>Able to work flexible hours </span></li>\n<li><span>Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments</span></li>\n<li><span>First-Aid Training an asset</span></li>\n<li>Must be able to to pass a clear police background check.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are</span> </span></p>\n<p>The Sensplex Facilities, an affiliate of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, are Ottawa’s premier destinations for hockey, sports, and community events.
