    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p>&nbsp;</p><p data-pasted=\"true\">As an LPN works collaboratively with the staff and providers within the team setting to facilitate quality care for the patient.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Functions of the Role:</strong></p><ul><li>Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers treatments in accordance with nursing standards.</li><li>Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.</li><li>Observes, records, and reports patients&rsquo; condition and reaction to drugs or treatments to providers.</li><li>Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintains timely flow of patients.</li><li>Greets patients and obtains well-documented history and vitals. Prepares patients for physical exam. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.</li><li>In accordance with established procedures and as prescribed by applicable licensure/certification, may 1) obtain/record vital signs; 2) perform initial assessment on patient; 3) coordinate patient transfer to hospital and/or discharge; 4) give telephone orders; 5) accept telephone test results; 6) perform telephone triage; 7) call in provider</li><li>approved prescription refills; 8) obtain wound culture; 9) administer oxygen; 10) open sterile tray; 11) apply topical medications; 12) give oral medications; 13) give sublingual medications to adults patients.</li><li>Only if appropriate training has been obtained, may 1) perform blood collection by lancet; 2) pulse oximetry; 3) suture and/or staple removal; 4) administer breathing treatment; 5) give allergy/insulin/immunization medications to adult patients; 6) give intra-muscular and/or subcutaneous injections to adult patients; 7) give injections Z track to adult patients.</li><li>After providing verification of completion for special training, may perform 1) EKG&rsquo;s;</li><li>2) assist/process biopsies; 3) start saline lock or IV fluids and monitor IV fluids; 4) stress echos; 5) treadmills.</li><li>May administer IV push medications and/or add medications to IV only after completion of special training and only under direct supervision of licensed practitioner.</li><li>May make arrangements for patient testing and admissions.</li><li>Per provider and/or established protocol, instructs patients and/or family with regard to medication and treatment and documents the same.</li><li>Orders, prepares, and inspects patient charts. Posts tests and examination results. Reviews patient&rsquo;s tests and examination results with provider; documents instructions and notified patient.</li><li>Maintains patient files, records and other information in a professional manner following policies and procedures regarding documentation.</li><li>Ensures preparation of exam rooms including re-stocking of treatment areas.</li><li>Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.</li><li>Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional licensure and affiliations.</li><li>Maintains patient confidentiality.</li><li>Uses oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas in a clear, positive manner.</li><li>Maintains established policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or G.E.D</li><li>Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing</li><li>Valid state license to practice nursing</li><li>BCLS Certification</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Desired Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>1-2 years of experience in the Cardiology field</li><li>Knowledge of ICD10, CPT and HCPCS Ability to prioritize and multi-task</li><li>Previous experience administering IV fluids</li><li>Previous medical office experience preferred</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p><p>Work is performed in a typical medical clinic and/or business office environment. Work in a clinical setting has the potential for exposure to blood and bodily fluids, and infectious pathogens. Must be able to use protective equipment as required. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Physical Requirements&nbsp;</strong></p><p>This position requires full range of body motion.
