These services are provided within an individual and group context. Responsibilities include intensive case management, medication management, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation to community agencies, group/community education, student mentoring, documentation, client/family and public education, advocacy, and mental health promotion.<br><br><strong>Human Resources Exemption: </strong>No<br><br><strong>Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>1 year experience in a mental health setting.</li>\n <li>Three (3) years nursing experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Other Education and Training</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)</li>\n <li>Nursing diploma is acceptable</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Decision making skills</li>\n <li>Critical thinking skills</li>\n <li>Advanced - Demonstrates word processing skills using Microsoft Office programs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge and Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care</li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of drug abuse and their effects during use and withdrawal</li>\n <li>Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.</li>\n <li>Knowledge in Mental Health nursing processes and appropriate interventions</li>\n <li>Knowledge in harm reduction in Addictions Medicine</li>\n <li>Knowledge Transtheoretical Model of Change</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team</li>\n <li>Knowledge in methadone/methadone assisted recovery</li>\n <li>Knowledge in Provincial Addiction Clinical Model and DSM-4R</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act</li>\n <li>Knowledge in drugs of abuse and their effects</li>\n <li>Knowledge in mental health and addictions and concurrent medical conditions</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing/Assessment</li>\n <li>Ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy</li>\n <li>Demonstrated high degree of accuracy is required of assigned responsibility</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Other Information</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)</li>\n <li>For more information on the city of Saskatoon please visit https://www.saskatoon.ca/</li>\n <li>Registered/eligible to be registered with RPNAS (Reg Psych Nurses Assoc of Sask)</li>\n</ul>",
