Description We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Hodgkins, IL. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Completing repair activities on generators or components Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of service Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools Responsibilities To be successful in this role you will need the following: Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities. High Voltage / Low Voltage experience. Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products. Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators. Basic Diesel Engine experience. Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality. Compensation and Benefits Base:  Salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits. Conduct preventive maintenance, load bank testing, and equipment inspections while accurately completing service documentation and reporting. Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues with limited supervision and provide occasional support or guidance to Level 1 technicians. Required Skills, Education, and Experience Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience working with power generation equipment, diesel engines, or industrial electrical/mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals. Proficiency with diagnostic software, multimeters, and other standard electrical/mechanical testing tools. High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications Technical school training or certification in diesel technology, electrical systems, or power generation. Familiarity with ATS systems, paralleling applications, or advanced generator control systems (e.g., PowerCommand, Deep Sea, ASCO).
