This position partners with faculty to enhance course design, implement evidence-based teaching strategies, and create engaging learning experiences that support student success and align with institutional goals.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">The Instructional Design Coach serves as a trusted educational consultant, providing individualized coaching, facilitating faculty development, and promoting best practices in instructional design and curriculum development. The coach will collaborate with faculty to analyze learning needs, design effective instructional materials, integrate educational technology, and foster innovative pedagogical approaches. This individual cultivates a culture of teaching excellence by mentoring faculty in learner-centered instruction and supporting continuous improvement of the medical education experience. Faculty rank will be determined based upon the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.&nbsp;</p>\n<div style=\"border-bottom:1pt solid rgb( 0 , 51 , 102 ); border-left-style:none; border-right-style:none; border-top-style:none; padding:0in 0in 4pt\">\n <p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Faculty Responsibilities</strong></p>\n</div>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Instructional Coaching and Faculty Development</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">The Instructional Design Coach provides individualized and small-group coaching to support faculty in designing and refining their courses. The coach works directly with course directors to apply evidence-based instructional design principles, help faculty develop clear and measurable learning objectives, and align assessments, activities, and content with desired outcomes. Additional coaching responsibilities include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assisting faculty with the development of readiness activities (pre-work) and in-class active learning facilitation</li>\n <li>Guiding faculty in selecting and implementing appropriate pedagogical approaches and active learning strategies</li>\n <li>Supporting faculty in integrating educational technology and digital tools to enhance student engagement and learning</li>\n <li>Conducting instructional design consultations and needs assessments with individual faculty and departments</li>\n <li>Developing and curating instructional design resources, templates, and guides for faculty use</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Curriculum and Program Development&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">The Instructional Design Coach collaborates with institutional partners to support coherent, program-level curriculum design. This includes:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Partnering with the assessment specialist and curriculum committee to ensure alignment between curriculum design and assessment</li>\n <li>Contributing to the preparation of materials for LCME accreditation and program reviews</li>\n <li>Collaborating with the Associate Dean for Institutional Effectiveness and other academic leaders on curricular initiatives</li>\n <li>Participating in committees related to curriculum development, faculty development, and educational innovation</li>\n <li>Documenting coaching activities and tracking faculty development initiatives to support continuous improvement</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Scholarship and Service</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">Instructional design coaches are expected to contribute to scholarly activity in instructional design, student learning, curriculum design, and/or other related areas.
