    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Summary of Essential Functions</strong></p><ul><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Assists physicians with patient care and follow-up in a clinic setting. Duties include, but are not limited to, interviewing patients, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients and assisting physicians with patient exams and/or treatment. Additional responsibilities include charting and clerical work as necessary to oversee phone prescriptions and refills to pharmacies. The LVN also performs triage with patient phone calls to identify emergent and non-emergent situations. Works under the direction of a Team Lead, Coordinator, Practice Manager and Provider. Provides a variety of direct patient care, technical and clinical functions for the patient, utilizing nursing processes and functions within the URPG policy and procedure.&nbsp;</span></li></ul><p><strong>Educational Requirements&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">High school diploma or equivalent.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">For LVN position, graduate of an accredited LVN school of nursing required.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">For Medical Assistant position, graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.&nbsp;</span></li></ul><p><strong>Licenses and Certifications &nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">As LVN, must be licensed with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">As Medical Assistant, certification as Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred or successfully complete certification within 6 months of hire</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">CPR Certification.</span></li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</strong></p><ul><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Ability to deal with staff, physicians, visitors, vendors, patients and the public in a tactful and pleasant manner</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Must work harmoniously in a team setting</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Must be organized, a self-starter and must have an eye for detail and accuracy</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Ability to understand, apply and carry out written or verbal orders.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Ability to recognize problems and respond appropriately.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Uses independent judgment and strong critical thinking skills&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Must have good working knowledge of computer systems with emphasis on Word, Excel, billing systems and other programs related to the position. Demonstrates competency in caring for patients in all age groups. Provides competent assistance to physician by providing information and education, and assistance during treatments and examinations of patients.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Deals effectively with physicians, patients and employees and ensures an environment of collaboration</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Skillfully performs patient assessment on all assigned patients in the Clinic.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Oversees care of patient throughout span of provider/patient relationship.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Multitasks and prioritizes effectively to manage a high volume of patients.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Provides outstanding service, utilizing AIDET and other service standards consistently.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Maintains strong knowledge of medications most commonly used in area of practice.&nbsp; Correctly administers medications within scope of practice.&nbsp; Monitors vital signs and observes patient for possible medication reaction.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Responsible for referral coordination and care management as deemed necessary by the physician. Ensures appropriate order completion of all medications, DME supplies, and diagnostic studies.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Responds to emergency situations in accordance to policy. Recognizes need for and initiates resuscitation; interprets basic arrhythmias and administers appropriate treatment. Furnishes patient history for physician. Ensures that code information is documented appropriately.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Ensures that proper equipment and supplies are used for tasks to be performed and that no wasting of supplies takes place, reports broken equipment or unsafe conditions in assigned area and enters work order or makes notation on work log specific items needing repair (follows maintenance checklist).</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Proactively keeps patient, family and visitors informed of changes in patient condition and plan of care. Elicits and/or provides pertinent patient information whenever transferring care of the patient to another care provider.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;\">Thoroughly and accurately completes all documentation.
