Even if you feel like you don’t meet all criteria, please give it a shot, and still apply.  </span></em></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Vacancy type:</span> <em>This posting is for an existing vacancy.</em></span></p>\n<p><span><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>About the Position:</span></span></p>\n<p><span>Reporting to the Team Leader, the Fitter will be responsible for but not limited to:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Fabricating, assembling and fitting structural steel assemblies.</span></li>\n<li><span>Rig, hoist and move materials to and from workstation. Performs crane checks daily prior to use to ensure the crane is in working condition, if applicable.</span></li>\n<li><span>Lay out reference points and symbols on the structural steel according to the blueprint.</span></li>\n<li><span>Assemble and fit metal sections and plates using tack welding, bolting or other methods.</span></li>\n<li><span>Operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding.</span></li>\n<li><span>Set up and operate various equipment such as torches, drills, various clamping tools, squares, disc grinders and other hand held tools.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ensure safe work practices are adhered to and appropriate PPE is worn at all times.</span></li>\n<li><span>Mentors apprentices and junior fitters by sharing knowledge and safe work practices.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Work Location:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Princeton Fabrication Facility.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Position Requirements:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Minimum 5 years of Fitting structural steel experience.</span></li>\n<li><span>Completion of three year apprenticeship program in Metal Fabrication or Welding an asset.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to read and interpret blueprints.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to read a tape measure in both metric and imperial.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to operate overhead cranes.</span></li>\n<li><span>Current or past CWB certification for FCAW, MCAW.</span></li>\n<li><span>Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span>A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment.</span></li>\n<li><span>Organization Skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities.</span></li>\n<li><span>Communication skills – both written and oral.</span></li>\n<li><span>Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.</span></li>\n<li><span>Analytical and problem solving skills.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Compensation Package:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Wage: $31.00-$40.00/Hour</span></li>\n<li><span>Vacation.</span></li>\n<li><span>Paid sick and Bereavement leaves.</span></li>\n<li><span>Flexible extended health and dental care packages.</span></li>\n<li><span>Employee Assistance Program.</span></li>\n<li><span>RRSP Matching.</span></li>\n<li><span>Profit Sharing.</span></li>\n<li><span>Employee Family Scholarship Program.</span></li>\n<li><span>Tuition support (Apprentice, Continued Education)</span></li>\n<li><span>Values in Action (ViA)- participating in charity events coordinated by employees.
