Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton. Working closely with and reporting to the Manager, Teaching & Learning, Alberta School of Business, this role plays a critical role in the delivery of an excellent learning experience for students at the school. The Curriculum Coordinator collaborates with academic faculty members and program staff to continuously enhance and improve teaching and learning within the school, bringing in practices that are research-based, pedagogically sound, and forward-thinking. This position is responsible for identifying, promoting, and implementing educational technologies, strategies, and approaches in areas including assessment, instruction, blended learning, and evaluation. Working alongside instructional teams, this role will provide management and coordination for the foundational series of Business courses and other large courses in the school as needed. This position also provides an important governance function in the school, participating in Faculty committees and providing coordination for Business Council. Responsibilities Provide consultation from the pedagogical perspective to academic faculty members to enhance teaching practices on topics including instructional practices, assessment design, student engagement, accessibility, education technology, and blended learning. Advise instructors on the effective integration of technology into their courses and teaching practices. Research, curate, design, and promote instructional resources for academic faculty members in print and digital formats. Work with a team of instructors to deliver the BUS series of courses that provides students with foundational and essential knowledge and skills to develop students as individuals and professionals, including: advise on instructional methods and assessment design; manage course grading; implement experiential learning activities; co-create instructional materials; and recruit, train, coordinate, and supervise Teaching Assistants. Conduct curriculum mapping and track key metrics to support the school's accreditation and continuous improvement efforts. Stay apprised of developments or advancements in post-secondary teaching and learning and lead the development of strategies for how the school can adapt and respond. Facilitate opportunities to showcase the school, including our programs and excellent teaching and learning practices, to potential students and partners. Qualifications Post-secondary graduate degree (master's or doctorate) in a related field (i.e., Business, Education, or Library and Information Studies or equivalent). Minimum two years of experience in instructional design, teaching and learning in higher education, Business education, training and development, or in a post-secondary environment or a related field. Knowledge of best practices in higher education, as well as new and emerging teaching and learning technologies, and how to integrate them. Experience in course coordination is preferred. Experience in curriculum mapping and data management, in a post secondary program preferred. Experience in integrating AI into the curriculum is preferred. Knowledge of university culture and policies. Demonstrated supervisory experience. Superior oral and written communication, exceptional organizational skills, interpersonal and relationship building ability; strong commitment to the client with a positive and professional approach. Outstanding project management skills, including managing projects, and groups within a defined time frame. Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify actions/solutions in complex situations. Adaptability and ability to work with some measure of ambiguity. Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps, and other software.
