We provide services including security, customer service, K9 detection, concierge, and baggage handling to a wide range of clients such as residential properties, commercial facilities, retail spaces, as well as some of the largest airports in Canada.</em></p><p><em>ASP is looking for Outdoor Facility Access Control Guards for an event and concert space in uptown Toronto on a 24/7 basis. Candidates must possess previous security experience and be able to provide highly visible service in a professional, competent, and courteous manner, whilst exercising excellent communication and customer service skills. Working with integrity and awareness, the Facility Access Control Guard takes responsibility for securing and protecting our client's property and ensuring only authorized access to the site.</em></p><p><strong><u>What you will do:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Vehicle and pedestrian Access control at multiple gates and entry points to the property</li><li>Work outdoors in all weather conditions, at times there may be no shelter in place</li><li>Operate a site vehicle or golf cart for conducting property patrols</li><li>Responsible for your shift team’s daily operations 4-25 guards at a time</li><li>Delivery gate assignments for your team, brake rotations and managing the daily operations schedule</li><li>Admin tasks such as updating scheduling sheets and submitting them in a timely manner</li><li>Report writing and reviewing guards' reports for accuracy</li><li>Use of company cell phone for reports</li><li>Conducting locks and unlocks of doors, gates, and fences</li><li>Foot patrols on site on an ongoing hourly basis, up to 10 000 steps</li><li>Conduct site training of new team members</li><li>Work in compliance with OHSA, AODA, CCC, and PSISA regulations, etc</li><li>Be responsible for keys and other equipment such as cellphones and radios , tracking and logging during shift changes</li><li>Collaborate with event staff, other security organizations, and dispatch personnel</li><li>Perform other relevant functions as required</li><li>Provide oversight and leadership of the site security guards and team lead</li><li>Supervise the completion of all required security tasks</li><li>Provide coaching and discipline if necessary</li><li>Emergency response if required, serving as the point of direction for the site team</li><li>Audit reports, patrols, and equipment log for completeness and accuracy</li><li>Collaborate closely with ASP management and the site clients</li><li>Provide protection from theft, vandalism, and trespassing</li><li>Physically monitor and patrol the outdoor property and land</li><li>Engage in professional, collaborative, and proactive security services</li><li>Investigate, report, and respond to any incidents as required</li><li>Assist in emergency situations such as evacuations and medical incidents</li></ul><p><u><strong>Working Environment:</strong></u></p><ul><li>This is an outdoor position with some guard houses located at a few access points</li><li>Working in all elements of the whether including rain, high winds, sun and heat</li><li>Exposure to dust or dirt from gravel roads</li><li>Standing/Walking for up to 12 hours</li><li>Large outdoor concert venue with only portable washroom access</li><li>On show days, exposure to loud music and crowds</li><li>Potential exposure to outdoor elements such as bugs, bees' tall grass</li></ul><p><u><strong>Who you are:</strong></u></p><ul><li>Must be 18 years of age or older</li><li>Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of security experience, tactical or events preferred</li><li>Eligible to work in Canada</li><li>Ability to work in a crowded environment, think critically, and work with a team</li><li>Must possess an Ontario Security Guard License</li><li>Must possess a G driver’s license with a clean abstract</li><li>Must possess valid First Aid, CPR and AED certification (Standard Level C)</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication, including radio use</li><li>Ability to work 12-hour rotations is mandatory, inclusive of holidays and weekends</li><li>Able to walk extended distances and work in all weather conditions</li></ul><p><u><strong>Competitive wages:</strong></u></p><ul><li>Wage range: $22.00/hour</li><li>Benefits available for full-time and part-time employees</li><li>The posting is for an existing posting </li></ul><p><strong><u>Why you should work with A.S.P:</u></strong></p><ul><li>We care about our team and their personal and professional success</li><li>Enjoy a diverse and engaging work environment</li><li>Work at an award-winning organization with a people-first mentality</li><li>Opportunities for learning and growth</li></ul><p>We welcome applicants of all backgrounds.
