Description Position Summary: The Human Resources Generalist administers and supports a wide range of human resources programs and processes across the associate lifecycle. This role partners with managers and associates to promote a positive, compliant, and engaging work environment while ensuring adherence to company policies and applicable employment laws. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Works with supervisors and managers to maintain a fair and positive work environment for associates; responds to associate concerns promptly and professionally. Participates in associate relations investigations and advises supervisors and managers in disciplinary action processes. Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures compliance among policies, procedures, and reporting. Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects associates to fill vacant positions. Plans and conducts new associate orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals. Keeps records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and associate statistics for government reporting. Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment. Advises management in appropriate resolution of associate relations issues. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization. Administers hourly pay program to ensure compliance and equity within organization. Answers questions and assists with administration of benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and associate assistance. Prepares associate separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Education/ Skills/ Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required skills: Problem solving/analysis Project management Communication proficiency Ethical conduct Time management Proficiency with computer systems and applications, networked systems and personal computers, in the performance of work assignments, such as electronic spreadsheets, word processing, and graphics and human resources databases. Physical Skills and Abilities: Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this Job, the Associate is regularly required to sit. The Associate is frequently required to stand and talk or hear. The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
