    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>AltaPointe’s Adult Residential Services are designed for consumers with serious and persistent mental illness who require social rehabilitation and community support. Combining medical, nursing and clinical services, our staff provides care and treatment for more than 200 adults in need of intensive service provision. The Adult Residential Services Program consists of group homes, which are supervised 24 hours/day when consumers are on the premises.  Expected outcomes are the same for each adult group home: to prevent re-hospitalization and to maximize and maintain successful community placement. Residential care focuses on the rehabilitation and return to the community of seriously mentally ill consumers.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Residential Managers provide training at the facility, complete time and attendance for their employees, provide staff coverage and infinite problems then evaluates effective solutions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Identifies problems, evaluates alternatives and implements effective solutions.</li>\n <li>Ensures that Basic Living Skills are written in accordance with all standards and turned in within an appropriate timeframe</li>\n <li>Provides staff coverage and direct service duties as needed</li>\n <li>Monitors effective hand off communication at shift change</li>\n <li>Provides training in the general orientation of the facility, policies and procedures, program operations and specific skill areas</li>\n <li>Is knowledgeable and applies Human Resources policies and procedures on a consistent basis</li>\n <li>Objectively completes employee performance evaluations on supervised staff and routes to Human Resources Department on a timely basis</li>\n <li>Provides staff with consultation and supervision individually and through group staff meetings      </li>\n <li>Ensures competence of staff to include ongoing compliance with Nurse Delegation Program and all AHS required trainings.</li>\n <li>Completes time and attendance within set timeframe given by payroll department</li>\n <li>Documents in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policy and program procedures</li>\n <li>Completes all appropriate documentation for continuity of care</li>\n <li>Documents in a clear and concise manner, services provided, individualized consumer response, and progress toward treatment goals</li>\n <li>Demonstrates the ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and takes a proactive approach to deescalate or resolve the situation</li>\n <li>Effectively collaborates with the treatment team members and outside sources in the delivery of clinical services</li>\n <li>Seeks supervision and consultation as needed</li>\n <li>Accepts and employs suggestions for improvement</li>\n <li>Actively works to enhance leadership skills and provides positive, effective leadership</li>\n <li>Treats consumers with care, dignity and compassion</li>\n <li>Respects consumer’s privacy and confidentiality</li>\n <li>Is pleasant and cooperative with others</li>\n <li>Assists consumers and visitors as needed</li>\n <li>Personal values don’t inhibit ability to relate and care for others</li>\n <li>Is sensitive to the consumer’s needs, expectations and individual differences</li>\n <li>Is gentle and calm with consumers and families</li>\n <li>Actively participates in Performance Improvement activities</li>\n <li>Actively participates in AltaPointe committees as required</li>\n <li>Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner</li>\n <li>Follows AltaPointe policies and procedures</li>\n <li>Attends regular workshops and in-service</li>\n <li>Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee</li>\n <li>Adheres to professional code of ethics.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>A bachelor’s degree in a mental health service-related field with one (1) year experience in a direct mental health service-related field area.</p>\n<p>A bachelor’s degree not in a mental health service-related field with two (2) years of experience in a direct mental health service-related field.</p>\n<p>High school diploma/GED with three (3) years of experience working directly in a mental health residential setting(s).</p>\n<p>Must possess a valid Driver’s License.  Must have proof of current liability insurance.  Effectively demonstrates the application of adult specific competencies as outlined below, to be attained within (6) six months of employment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in the adult population</li>\n <li>Knowledge of available community resources</li>\n <li>Knowledge of substance abuse treatment issues, developments and trends</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Senior Adult issues for referral purposes</li>\n <li>Knowledge of cultural diversity</li>\n <li>Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention and interventions common to acute psychotic patients, as well as, to non-violent crisis intervention practice</li>\n <li>Knowledge of educational methods appropriate to adults with psychiatric disorders</li>\n <li>Successful completion of MAC certification</li>\n <li>Knowledge of all applicable community mental health standards (DMH, JC, Medicaid)</li>\n <li>Knowledge of utilizing the Electronic Health Record</li>\n <li>Successful completion of Defensive Driving</li>\n</ul>",
