The lives of our members are linked to the land and to a close understanding of traditions, history and a natural way of life. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About The Role</span></p>\n<p>Mikisew is seeking a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Casual Custodian</span> at the Paspew House in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta. This role supports the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of residents living spaces and common areas. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-orientated, and comfortable taking on a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Roles and Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets.</li>\n<li>Washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks and restocking disposables.</li>\n<li>Wipe mirrors, windows, and glass.</li>\n<li>Remove garbage and recycle daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up.</li>\n<li>Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests.</li>\n<li>Report major damage and oversee repairs.</li>\n<li>Occasional custodian tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.).</li>\n<li>Make note of cleaning supplies that need to be ordered.<br></li>\n<li>All other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum one year experience as custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.</li>\n<li>Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, moving items, and extended periods of standing.</li>\n<li>Valid WHMIS Certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Other Requirements</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Successful Completion of Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Mikisew Cree First Nation is committed to an inclusive and accessible recruitment process.
