For more information, visit ClaiborneMedicalCenter.com.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>Is accountable for the delivery of high quality nursing care and for the administrative management of the nursing unit on a 24-hour basis. Fulfills all duties and responsibilities associated with the Nurse Manager position.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Selects, trains, orients, develop and evaluate performance of the department staff. Ensures staffing mix and allocation in accordance with departmental guidelines. </li>\n <li> Develops departmental budgets. Administers operations in accordance with budgeted parameters.</li>\n <li> Maintains operational reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.</li>\n <li> Coordinates and reports outcome of nursing activities performed on behalf of the resident. </li>\n <li> Establishes and maintains communication between the nursing unit, medical staff and ancillary departments for the purposes of problem solving and quality improvement. Utilizes appropriate lines of communication within the facility.</li>\n <li> Ensures establishment and implementation of unit goals and objectives are in alignment with the facility and system.</li>\n <li> Promotes a safe environment that allows for the delivery of high quality resident care utilizing evidenced based practices.</li>\n <li> Protects resident confidentiality by promoting professional staff communications.</li>\n <li> Supervises, institutes, and evaluates nursing interventions and documentation.</li>\n <li> Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.</li>\n <li>Works collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure resident care is timely, efficient, and effective.</li>\n <li> Facilitates professional development of staff with accountability for staff retention.</li>\n <li> Assists in maintaining a safe environment for all residents which may include reporting to appropriate managerial staff equipment that is out of order, suspicion of resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect and reporting of suspicion of criminal activities.</li>\n <li> Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.</li>\n <li> Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Education:</strong>                        </p>\n<p>Graduate of accredited nursing program required; possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field preferred (required within 3 years in position or effective date of job description).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Experience:          </strong>            </p>\n<p>Three (3) years of recent clinical experience. Two (2) years of leadership/managerial experience preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure Requirement:</strong>                   </p>\n<p>Current state registered nurse license. CPR required</p>",
