Veterinary Student Externship About the hospital: Bay Beach Veterinary Hospital in the heart of Virginia Beach, Virginia is seeking a veterinary student extern to join our 6 doctor general practice. We have a strong focus on maintaining exceptional client communication, patient care and medical protocol standards. We believe every patient and client deserves the best medicine and care we can offer. Bay Beach Veterinary Hospital also has a multi-doctor emergency practice located just 20 minutes away. Our area has almost anything you can imagine as far as activities, restaurants, breweries and events. Virginia Beach has excellent schools and specialized academies for students. There is also a wide range of outdoor activities and quick access to the mountains and ocean. An array of dog parks and outdoor activities like hiking are available along with much more to do and see. Mentorship from multiple strong veterinarians who are excited to welcome a student 19 employee DVMs (6 GP and 13 ER DVMs between 2 hospitals) Team has strong clinical skills in the areas of surgery and ultrasound Gain experience with basic surgeries Visiting specialists provide echocardiogram and advanced ultrasound services 90% companion animal, 10% exotics (desire to see exotics cases not required, however exotics mentorship is available) Fully equipped with in-house lab capabilities, digital x-ray, and ultrasound Excellent culture, collaborative environment, and low turnover What we offer externs: Stipend to offset the cost of housing and travel Opportunities to connect with multiple VetEvolve practices Why VetEvolve: VetEvolve's Support from the Start program is designed to provide new veterinarians with mentorship, hands-on training, and a customized post-grad experience to build a strong foundation.
