These may include courses such as &nbsp;PT II, and other common Chiropractic Technique labs.&nbsp;</li></ul><strong><br>DEPARTMENT:&nbsp;</strong>Center for Academics, College of Chiropractic<br><strong>JOB OBJECTIVES:&nbsp;</strong>To educate individuals as patient-centered chiropractic physicians and members of a collaborative interdisciplinary healthcare team while embracing education, research, and service.<p><br></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</strong></p><p>Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p><p><strong><u>Course Management</u></strong><strong>: &nbsp;</strong>Faculty members are responsible to design, deliver and manage their course in accordance with the guidance provided to them by their direct supervisor. &nbsp;This includes, but is not limited to, the following:</p><ul><li>Prepare and adhere to a syllabus in Parker&rsquo;s required format.</li><li>Clearly communicate course requirements, means of evaluation, deadlines, and policies to students.</li><li>Hold classes and laboratories as scheduled; take attendance and submit it timely.</li><li>Develop high-quality means of evaluating student learning outcomes and apply them fairly and consistently in accordance with Parker policies, as well as methods and timelines set forth in the syllabus.</li><li>Submit final grades and required course documentation timely.</li><li>Follow Parker policies and procedures in all elements of course management.</li><li>Address student concerns identified in course evaluations.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Student Interaction</u></strong><strong>: &nbsp;</strong>Faculty members generally have more direct contact with students than any other institutional employee and are responsible to manage that contact consistent with the highest ethical and professional standards. &nbsp;</p><ul><li>Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students.</li><li>Respond timely to student e-mails and voicemails.</li><li>Provide advising and additional academic support including maintaining required office hours to review examinations and other graded work and directing student towards appropriate resources.</li><li>Monitor student performance and attendance, contact students at risk, submit early alerts when appropriate.</li><li>Fairly and consistently apply Parker academic and student conduct policies.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Curricular and Programmatic&nbsp;</u></strong><strong><u>Quality, Integrity, and Review</u></strong><strong>: &nbsp;</strong>The faculty, within the framework provided by programmatic accreditation standards and institutional vision and mission, has responsibility for curricular maintenance and improvement.</p><ul><li>Assist in vertical and horizontal integration of curriculum.</li><li>Participate in Quality Enhancement&nbsp;Plan, OSCE exams, and other activities designed to evaluate student learning outcomes.</li><li>Contribute to maintenance and/or improvement of programmatic outcomes such as National exam&nbsp;scores, Student Satisfaction Surveys, Graduate Exit Surveys, etc.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong><u>Professionalism and Scholarly Activity</u></strong><strong>: &nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Faculty members are part of the overall institutional&nbsp;team and&nbsp;are expected to not only contribute to the success of their individual courses and/or program, but also to the success of the University as a whole.</li><li>Engage with all Parker stakeholders in accordance with Parker values, policies, and procedures. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Respond timely to requests from direct supervisor, as well as other University offices.</li><li>Attend and participate in University events, including scheduled faculty meetings and three commencements per year.</li><li>Engage in ongoing professional development in discipline(s) taught and educational methods.</li><li>Contribute to scholarly works.</li><li>Participate in service activities.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>JOB SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/EXPERTISE:</strong></p><ul><li>An advanced graduate, doctorate or professional degree that demonstrates mastery in a relevant subject.</li><li>A minimum of three years of full-time teaching or other relevant; documented participation in research and/or scholarly activities is preferred&nbsp;</li><li>All other requirements per Rank Advancement as outlined in the Faculty Handbook&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum professional experience, as appropriate for any applicable programmatic accreditation.</li><li>A current certificate or license as applicable to the program of instruction, additional postgraduate certifications are preferred</li><li>Participation in professional development and service to the institution</li><li>Participation in course evaluation and improvement&nbsp;strategies</li><li>Completed 18 graduate hours in the discipline taught&nbsp;required.</li><li>Evidence of ability as an effective teacher, to include use of active learning approaches.</li><li>Evidence of the interest in and ability to engage in research, scholarly and/or creative activity.</li><li>Experience with online teaching and the Blackboard learning management system is preferred but not required.</li></ul><strong><br>JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/ETC.:</strong><ul><li>Competence in their respective field of&nbsp;study.</li><li>Effective communication in the English language, both verbal and written. Ability to adapt course materials to the chiropractic&nbsp;paradigm.</li><li>Proficiency with appropriate lab equipment.</li><li>Proficiency in software applications common in higher education environments, such as the Microsoft Suite student information systems, and Learning Management&nbsp;Systems.</li><li>&nbsp;Good organizational skills.</li><li>Compliance with the applicable state and federal laws and regulations and accepted industry standards as associated with courses taught in their respective discipline.&nbsp;</li><li>Professional dress and demeanor; positive attitude and willingness to work with other faculty as part of a team and be supportive of the University.</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
