    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>IT Support Analyst&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Locations: Birmingham, Alabama or Atlanta, Georgia&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Onsite 4 days a week.</strong></p>\n<p><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>To provide dedicated technical and business process support for the Technology Organization (TO) systems at Southern Power (SPC) plants as well as Enterprise fleet wide projects when necessary.</p>\n<p><strong>Qualification Requirements</strong></p>\n<p>This is a 7x24x365 support organization and participation in an on-call rotation as well as performing some after-hours work is required.</p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<p>- Associate degree in Computer Science or related technical field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience OR 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree (IT Industry certifications also considered).</p>\n<p>- Strong professional skills including organizational, communication, coordination, and analytical abilities.</p>\n<p>- Communicate technical concepts into language customers easily understand.</p>\n<p>- Demonstrate ability to significantly contribute to highly integrated project / operational teams.</p>\n<p>- Exemplary safety record, experience with industrial settings and extensive travel.</p>\n<p>- Ability to consistently demonstrate teamwork.</p>\n<p>Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p>\n<p>- Professional – - Collaboration – work in highly integrated teams to achieve successful project outcomes.</p>\n<p>- Organization and Prioritization – able to organize work and discern priorities.</p>\n<p>- Operational Excellence – able to consistently improve operations.</p>\n<p>- Innovative – facilitates creative options that lead to more valuable / measurable outcomes.</p>\n<p>- Continuing education – demonstrates ability to continuously develop contemporary skills.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Technical</strong> –&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Experience working in a large technology organization is required.&nbsp; Understanding of its internal processes and technical infrastructure integration is required (primarily data / telecom / cybersecurity / Generation applications / end user environment / etc.).</p>\n<p>- Understanding of plant OT (Operational Technology) systems and their interaction with IT systems considered advantageous. Data Networking / Telecommunications – profound understanding of supporting remote sites data network / telecommunications / firewalls / routers / switches / BDAs / etc and associated communication methods (AVPN, LTE, BGP, IP stack, etc.).</p>\n<p>- Enhanced knowledge of Cybersecurity considered advantageous. - Electric Plant Support Experience - understanding of electric plant operations, particularly related to technologies used at the plant (Emergency Notification, Physical Security, Operator Rounds, CEMS, Historian, LOTO, Maximo, etc.).</p>\n<p>- Comprehensive knowledge of physical security systems (CCure / Avigilon) considered advantageous. - Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, particularly O365 environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Visio.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Industry –</strong></p>\n<p>-- Proficient knowledge of Southern Company, particularly related to Southern Power (SPC) Plant Operations and their interaction with their Remote Operations Center (ROC).</p>\n<p>- Fundamental understanding of North American electrical transmission infrastructures and how they interact with SPC plants.</p>\n<p>- Fundamental understanding of North American telecommunications infrastructures.</p>\n<p>- Proficient knowledge of the FERC Separation Protocol and the supporting TO infrastructure / processes.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p>\n<p>- Operational Support – ensure the resiliency, effectiveness, and security of SPC plant IT infrastructures is designed, implemented, maintained and continuously improved.</p>\n<p>- Project Support – demonstrate active and meaningful contributions to SPC Plant / ROC Integration Projects.</p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<p>- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.</p>\n<p>- Must be able to climb ladders safely to install equipment.</p>\n<p>- Must be able to handle extreme weather conditions.</p>\n<p>- <strong>Travel up to 50%</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<p><strong>*This position is split between “office setting” and “plant setting”.&nbsp; Four days in office if not travelling.</strong></p>\n<p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
