This position is responsible for performing interior painting, drywall repair, and surface preparation across academic, residential, and administrative buildings. The Painter plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform interior painting of walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces across campus buildings</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, patching, spackling, caulking, and priming</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Repair drywall, including patching holes, taping, mudding, and finishing surfaces</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Match and mix paints to achieve consistent finishes and meet project specifications</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Protect surrounding areas by covering floors, furniture, and fixtures during work</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling and storage of materials</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Work from work orders, project plans, or verbal instructions</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Coordinate with other Facilities team members to complete projects efficiently</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Respond to routine maintenance requests and assist with minor repairs as needed</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Required:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">High school diploma or equivalent</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">2&ndash;5 years of professional painting and drywall experience</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Basic understanding of drywall repair and finishing</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or scaffolding</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Preferred:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience in institutional, commercial, or higher education settings</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Familiarity with work order systems</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Basic skills in other trades (carpentry, general maintenance)</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Primarily indoor work in academic buildings, residence halls, and offices</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to minimize disruption</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Exposure to paint fumes, dust, and typical maintenance environments</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Regular use of ladders and basic hand and power tools</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Manual dexterity to operate tools and perform detailed work</li></ul></div>\n",
