Job Overview
The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the receiving department. This role ensures the accurate and timely receipt of goods, maintains a safe and organized work environment, and drives continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and team performance. The Supervisor plays a key role in hiring, training, developing, and motivating team members to meet and exceed operational goals.
Highlights of your role
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of receiving associates to achieve departmental goals.
Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable to high standards of productivity, quality, and safety.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and administer fair and consistent discipline when necessary.
Oversee accurate and efficient receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming shipments.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Maintain proper staffing levels and coordinate cross-training to ensure operational flexibility and coverage.
Promote and enforce a culture of safety by ensuring adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and participate in incident investigations as needed.
Drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and service levels.
Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and resolve issues.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
High School diploma/GED required
Required two or more years of related supervisory experience or training
ICIM and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge preferred
Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift license
