Description Location: Dallas, TX Job Description: Bring comfort where it matters most. Elysian Hospice is hiring a compassionate Chaplain to provide spiritual care to terminally ill patients and their families in the home setting. If you're called to walk alongside people through life's final chapter — offering presence, counsel, and connection — this is a role with real purpose and a supportive interdisciplinary team behind you. Qualifications Essential Functions Assess the hospice patient and support system to identify spiritual needs, as evidenced by the Plan of Care (POC), documentation in the clinical records, and IDG/IDT conference minutes; provide support for the spiritual needs of the patient/family Attend IDG/IDT meetings and participate in the patient care planning process; participate in the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) process as required Use effective interpersonal relations and communication skills, and facilitate the use of these skills by other team members to achieve desirable outcomes Make reasonable efforts to facilitate visits from local clergy, pastoral counselors, and other individuals who can support the patient's spiritual needs Meet mandatory continuing education requirements of the hospice Demonstrate commitment, professional growth, and competency by maintaining a working knowledge of public and private eligibility standards and requirements Promote the hospice's philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care Demonstrate understanding of coordination and continuity of care by collaborating with the IDG/IDT Accept clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to meet the needs of the patients/families Qualifications Working knowledge of community spiritual and other support resources Strong interpersonal and communication skills Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto liability insurance (if using a personal vehicle for work) Ability to travel locally to patient homes and healthcare facilities Master of Divinity (MDiv) preferred One year of experience as a Chaplain in a healthcare institution preferred CPR certification preferred (per hospice requirement) Benefits: • Highly competitive compensation • Generous 401K with matching contributions • Continuing education reimbursement for professional growth • Ample vacation, sick leave, and holidays. • Over-productivity pay • Employee recognition program with financial rewards • Mileage reimbursement • Comprehensive medical, dental, and supplemental insurance We are an Equal opportunity employer; We offer an excellent benefit plan to include 401K with match, CEU reimbursement, vacation, sick, holidays, medical, dental, and supplemental insurance Plans as well as a Highly competitive compensation package.
